Computer Freezing for 10sec while playing, seems random

GeForce4 Ti4800 SE GS Not OC'd
1Gb Kingston 400MHz DDR (Single DIMM)
Intel P4 2.4GHz CPU Not OC'd
Asus P4PE-X MoBo
Windows 2000 SP4

It started couple nights ago. While playing DAOC (Not sure if this happens in Windows too) I get a freeze, nothing moves on screen. For ~6 secs i can still hear music if playing any, can talk/hear in Ventrilo. The last 4 secs even music starts to crumble. Then it's over. It seems bit random but about once every 3 hours

Observations:
- HDD LED doesn't show constant activity (aka like it would be if HDD usage = 100%). The activity seems to be something like 10% (LED flashes frequently but it's not bright)
- Data moves in ADSL box all the time

So it doesn't seem to be HDD Jamming. Could it be CPU or RAM related, or is my GFX card blowing up soon? 1Gb RAM is well enough and the usage goes MAX to 900Mb (This is after playing DAOC for say, 5+ straight without zoning so cache gets cleared, so it can't really be that ...)

edit: Ran Spyware and Virus scan, found two viruses (Java/OpenConnect) but cleaning didn't fix :/

edit2: Just had another freeze while ALT+TAB'd (So DAOC was still on). Didn't freeze windows totally but made it really itchy.

edit3: CPU usage jumped to 100% and is 100% still, right after freeze. No any performanceproblems atm though ..

you have any AV, spyware, or windows updates set to update automatically ?

Sounds like its accessing the page file. Probably due to either due to not having enough ram, or spyware.

Ran both adware and spybot, both updated.
AVGuard as AntiVir
edit: No any automatic updates

Cleared both Opera and IE cache, temp files, cookies etc. Changed AntiVir to AVG Free Edition, scanned again. Nothing

Already thought i had it fixed somehow but just got first freeze again :/
Although at least Comp Usage stays normal now, doesn't jump to 100% permanently

The problem u described CAN be caused by a few things I will mention. As I take it u said computer locking up for 10 sec at a random interval? If its not SPYWARE tryin ta access the web or as others put it proggys on yer puter doin auto-updatin then check this (not necessarily in this order but its not a bad order);
1. VideoCard overheating... yes it didn't before ok ok but is there dust buildup on it? That can cause cooling probs.
2. Memory going bad can cause these symptoms.
3. Memory not properly seated or getting micro-corroded on pins can cause. Simply pull memory and reinsert carefully. If any corrosion it will wipe it away usually. Cleaning slot and pins lightly with Pure Alchohol (avail at Frys Electronics and other elec supply stores) on a brush or swab can help.
4. Check all connections/cables by pulling and reinserting them.
5. Power Supplies going bad can do this.
