Thrax: Where's the masses?

Holy crap man. All I said was:

1) There was a lot of tk'ing on v pads. Contrary to what you all said, this is a fact.
2) Maps were bigger than T1. This is also a fact.
3) Skiing was slower. Fact.
4) Turrets were much stronger. Fact.
5) Gameplay was slower. Fact.
6) The player counts all you guys are debating still haven't been proven. I'm not refuting you, I'm simply saying you have no factual evidence. Fact.

I was just pointing out these facts. That's all. I realize you're not very familiar with this concept, so I'll excuse your nasty behavior.

That's all he was good at because he definately didn't have the skills to lead either the offense or defense in 4M. It pissed him off no end to have that brought up in the after match discussions.

Yea, I remember harrasing him in game, though he was the only one in 4m who seemed to get the picture about how to play. He wasn't the greatest HO but I admired his ethic.

Yeah 4M did suck much ass, as a team... I think that's what Jack and Gand are arguing about. I'm of the opinion that there was enough talent on the team to have done better, its just that there was no great team leader(s)... and no cohesion between the members. So, the degree of suckage. (Oh, and I can say that none of 4M ever, ever used cheats.. something some "top teams" cannot declare).

That said, I never gave a try at leading the team, so I dont have a lot of room to critique those that did.

Lastly, since we're discussing ancient history here... 4M was started by a bunch of pubbers who loved the game and wanted to play together. We were 50 strong at the peak. We were NOT a super uber dedicated squad of elite players, obviously... we were just gamers playing, looking to have fun, get better, play on a ladder, and hang out.

Sucking sucked, but most people were still having fun. Jack was not one of them, nor was Creeper. I remember thinking their yelling/anger in matches/practices was out of line. Looking back, I can't say I blame them... the frustration must have been intense.

Anyhoo.... I maintain that holding a hatred for someone this long over shit that surrounds a video game is very sad. A resentment, sure ok fine. But obvious hatred? :huh: Put the shit down already.

To everyone disagreeing with this (The 3 or 4 of you):
Your saying that people didn't beat the crap out of each other to get vehicles? lol. That was one of the first things I noticed when I played. The vehicle pad was like its own arena coloseum on pubs. Without a grav cycle or shrike or whatever, it took 10 years to get across the maps without skiing.


You are right, base T2 feels slow like running through soup, but honestly classic completely changed that. The skiing and kick ass disc jumping in T2 classic can make T1 feel slow, plus to make T1 feel fast you do have to dabble a bit with your scripting in game.

Agreed. It's sad when you see people hating others because they played a game they didn't like. Especially when it's in the same genre.

Yeah, I don't mean to downplay ya guys(which I guess I did) it's just T-banter. I know you guys were a play for fun team. I always waited for something to click with 4M but nothing ever came of it. As long as you're having fun, guess that's all that matters.

I was there. This is what I observed:

- PJ talked a grand total of 2 times. Previous to that, I thought he was a homeless guy that had wandered in as he looked like he was receiving chemotherapy during the council, and I'm not sure that wasn't the case. For all his posturing in this post, he really had nothing to contribute to the council.

- None of us were there to 'offer our opinion', we were there for Sierra's PR so they could try and sell us their idea of tribes. It did not originate from anyone at the council.

- Why is PJ here again? Sounds like the same whines I was hearing 3 years ago.

I do believe this earns my seal of approval.
