Petition to make t:v rifle more like the t2 rifle [Compmod]

I would really like to see more changes to the rifle in compmod. Striker was on the right track in the previous version when he increased projectile speed, but that was nixed in v.5 in a tradeoff for projectile distance. The way the rifle works now isnt much better than base. IMO we need lots more velocity, along with increased distance. Who's with me?

The SNIPER rifle you mean? Nevermind distance and speed et al, I say that anyone who uses the sniper rifle in-game should be forced to drop their purse first.

t:v's rifle has taken me forever to get used to (big change from t1) but it works out in T:V, and with the extra distance / somewhat-limited velocity of cm .5 it's just about perfect, imo...

The sniper rifle in T:v is fine.
That whole unlimited ammo crap was too much. It overpowered it. Just think about the T2 rifle

. Has a VERY high attack power
. Low reload time (if u wanna try and finish off a guy with little health)
. U can deal this damage from a safe smug location while ur comrades are in the front lines.
.AND it has unlimited ammo!!!

Lets be real in T2 I've seen snipers stay in 1 spot forever.
10 shots is enough. There should be an ammo pack though.

I don't know where you played where you saw snipers sitting in one spot for an entire map, but it certainly couldn't have been a good server or pub if that's the case. Or are you going to try to tell me that you saw these things in competition, which is exactly what Core is talking about?

The rifle is my favorite T:V weapon. I don't really have too many problems with it in comp, or in pubs.

The base T:V laser rifle always seems off to me, it seems like it has a slow response time. It seemed like they tried to make it less usefull, just because it was never as common as other weapons in tribes games and cappers have always bitched about it.

I am getting better at it in T:V, but I still find a lot of times that when I press the button there is a delay in the shot and the laser isn't even going where I aim. I comes off as a very clusmy gun as compared to the other tribes games.

Yeah it does have slow response time. Its not light speed like in T2. That shoulda stayed.
And yeah I know a sniper can't stay in 1 spot forever but he could keep sniping forever. THATS WHACK!!!!!!!

The TV rifle is lets say...different to the T1 and T2 rifle. I still dont care for it, but hey if it floats your boat and you like TV more power to you. I'll stick to T2 for now.

I think the SR needs help. I liked to play T2 mods. I like the one shot one kill rifle in XK1's magnum or the super fast firing sniper cannon in Devastation by Zamo. A sniper rifle should be one shot one kill on a scout. What else is a sniper rifle for. Hide, sneak, find cover, find a target, kill the target. If you want to battle grab a spinfusor and go at it. Different players, different styles. My vote is yes, more like T2, just a bit more damage. I want a sensor jammer pack to go with it. :) The ammo should be limited to 10, 6 isnt enough.

I never said anything about changing the ammo sceme, just that it needs to have a faster projectile and more range.

The problem for me is I can see beyond my sniping range ingame, which I think is crap. I see nothing wrong with taking a pot shot from 1000 clicks out. If you happen to hit, more power to you regardless of wether the target was in your radar or not. That was what made the rifle in t2 so good. As it stands now, a sniper can only cover half the map, in the smallest maps. I just want more range and speed.

No, it isn't always. I'm not sure why, but out of all the headshots I've gotten (on light armors), only a few have actually been one shot kills.
