notoriously :( i sort of regret not giving t2 classic a true try. once base had planted its seed of "nerfed skiing" on me, i had a hard time looking past that. everything else about t2 base i really liked too...

Yeah, I'll have to give it a try. Nothing to lose, I've already wasted the money ;)

Thing about T2, I loved T2 base...so I never bothered with T2 Classic, which, I now regret because it would've probably been more to my liking than Base...

Now players finally begin realizing what classic brought to the table. I remember waging many wars with people like you that just would not accept anything from T2 could possibly come even close to your masterpiece that is T1.

It's fine with me, but you really missed out on one of the best times in Tribes competition. Some amazingly fun games were played during that time period.

I'm not sure which is more amusing; the fact that you think you know what a paragraph is, or the fact that you're so adamant about your opinion you must force it upon everyone that disagrees with you?

Am I the only one that feels you do this more than anyone else? For the most part, people who hate Vengeance seem to be on some sort of crusade to tell the world that it's evil and that it killed Tribes. You go about it in an intellegent and somewhat reasonable manner, but in the end it boils down to you not liking it and wanting to tell everyone why.

Personally, I love Tribes: Vegeance, just as I love Starsiege: Tribes and Tribes 2. I get that you don't like it, but why does it seem that my preference, and the preferences of those like me, make us lesser beings in your view?

Please forgive any mistaken assumptions on my part, I'm only working off of what I've read you post in the past. I know many others may hold age-old grudges against you for whatever it is you did in the past, but I don't. I'm merely trying to have a meaningful exchange here.

Like I said...

TW is much easier to read now that NoFiX is on my ignore list.

Like I said...

:)

People like you breed the responses you get from people like me.

Just remember that.

It's not the preference, it's the mascot.

Now, when people want to be serious, like yourself, I have no problem getting into a decent discussion with them. But, as you seen earlier in this thread, someone like Mr. Scary comes around and starts acting like an ass for no reason, other than to start shit...I start playing with them.

BitRaiser has done it to me in the past. Amadeu5 has done it to me in the past. Zio has done it to me in the past. The more people that continue doing it, the far less respect I have for anyone that comes from the same line...that line usually being T:V's.

Eh, I love change. Legends brought subtle change, I loved that. T2 brought subtle change, minus the physics, I loved that.

T:V brought UT-inspired gameplay, minus the players, minus any depth and gameplay that's on the edge of being flat out torture, I didn't love that.
:signed:

And frankly, I dont care if you DO enjoy it, there are plenty of people who enjoy UT, and CS and all the other FPS games out there. However trying to convince me that Vengeance is a step forward is pointless... MY preference is to consider it at best a half-finished, ill-conceived product that had an excellent single player campaign (again, simply MY take on it), but failed miserably to deliver the MP experience that T1 or T2 did for me. Make of that what you will, but when someone asks "should I buy this game?" My answer still falls into the "dont go in with high hopes for the MP game" column.

I think it's fun. Not a ton of guys playing, but enough to have fun, and likely to grow.

It's not saturated with cheaters at this point, but it does need support, and we're mostly in the dark about how that'll go.

Also the single player is a very worthy game, and impresses me with the thought that went into exposing players to aspects of Tribes and it's equipment. It's at least amusing to vets, certainly far moreso than those first Tribes training missions ;)

In all honesty if either T1 or 2 were better protected against exploits, and had a good population, I'm not sure I would choose T:V above them, but I'm having fun. I hope you to see you on the pubs again.

T:V has a lot more depth than UNREAL and UNREAL is already a great game.

I'm debating whether or not I should buy Tribes Vengenance...

I used to play Tribes 1 fairly heavily (I was in a small clan, played in tournaments several times a week, etc), but I really wasn't too fond of Tribes 2. I'm not really sure why but it just felt way too different from the original Tribes I guess.

As for T:V, I've played the demo and it looks like a ton of fun and reminds me a lot of Tribes 1, but I'm wondering a couple of things:

1) How many people are playing T:V? For example, is it as popular as UT2K4?
2) Does T:V compare to T1 in any way?
3) Should I buy T:V?

if ur a fan, then buy/support it?????

if i gave up gaming entirely, i would still buy the tribes series.

ROFL! You're the one who started it. Get the facts straight. First you said something along the lines of "if were any good at T1 or T2, T:V sucks" or something like that. Then you made the ridiculous claim that T:V is UT2K4 with jet packs. But the funniest thing you said was T2 had "subtle" changes. Then you started gettin' all pissy and your blood was boilin'. You playing me? Yet another laugh. I love TW. It's highly entertaining not only for TWIP posts, but little clowns like yourself who can't keep the facts straight and get played just like a puppet.

This is coming from someone who knows NOT what a paragraph is. And your definition of 'fact' must be paraphrasing with deception, lol.

You're a joke...

funniest statements always are: "It's a good game on its own. Not good compared to t1 or t2 but good. Oh yeah and numbers are sligthly increasing".

Sorry, i cant see any increasing numbers, all i see is decreasing. More and more teams on twl drop that game.

Bit I definately agree with... Zio, not sure... but I never intended (and still don't intend) to start a quarrel. I know how much you hate it when I'm asking for 'proof' or source of info, but please do link me to a thread or post where I was 'acting like an ass for no reason' as you put it. Not for validity's sake, but for allowing me to see the ways I need to refine my posting in.

You know exactly what I'm talking about. Think back to any of the MA-inspired threads or T:V SpeedHack threads.

The thing that sucks about these forums is that even though he's on my ignore list, you can still read his shit riddled words from others when they quote him.

Whan I act like an ass, I'm really an asshole and I always have a reason to act so.

In most occasions, It's usually due to either rude or uninformed posts from the likes of NoFiX or posters that share his, "you don't share my opinion so fuck you, you fucking moron" attitude.

All I'm seeing is a moderate communication gap. I misinterpret what you want to say, and you misinterpret what I want to say because you assume that I interpreted right in the first place.

Interesting reads though, thanks for reminding me :)

No, you misinterpret what I say, not what I want to say.

And no, what you say is wrong...

Like, for instance, you're still under the impression clients dictate their orientation(Unreal Engine based games), in reality, they only dictate rotational information. Everything else is based off an input queue, as been described to you many, many, many times.

Now, don't let me derail the thread, but thanks for responding rationally...you might have potential after all :)

You're such a hypocrite.

You're fine with people as long as they agree with your "T:V is GREAT!!" tagline. Don't pretend otherwise.
