yea, gandalf, come take a class that takes most ppl 30 hours a week of work... then work at a job. and take classes.

find me the time to map after all that. k? thanks. its getting done, i'd say about 80-90% done at this point. im still checking to make sure no last minute bugs, and we'll try to get all the maps tested before releasing them as a pack.

gandalf, maybe now is a good time to let us in on your secret,
exactly what do you do to have your server full 24/7?

Gandalf does something besides bitch about Tribes and harrass mappers?

I have offered my services about 15 times no. Geiss always responds with "lols" and thats about it. I guess I know where I stand when I can't even help a buddy out

No seriously though, if your classes take your life, pass the torch. There are many (including myself) who are more than willing...

perhaps people should not be bitching since he is not getting paid to do this?

I would care less, yet Geiss has repeatedly said "Hope this weekend" for about two months now.

When you make a commitment (and want to lord over everyone else you're in charge of something) then you have an obligation to keep your promises when you make them. If you don't want to keep promises, don't make them in the first place. I don't care what your personal life is like, you made the commitments to do this, I didn't hold a fucking gun to your head.

Plenty of people bitch and moan (including everyone in this thread) about VUG not releasing the patch - so my response is STFU hypocrites.

If he said "this weekend" that means this weekend. Until it's released, I'll continue to bitch, just like every other TW member when he doesn't follow through.

if you don't like his timeline, i'm sure he will be happy to refund you all of the money you have paid for his maps.

Seriously tho.. I would argue that this damn delayed map pack is the single
thing that is preventing people from a better t:v experience. Not the patch.

People are freekin bored with the same old shitty maps and players seem to love
the custom maps. Just take any PU on Mofo's for example. If more new players
got to play the whicked custom maps.. I guarantee the player base would increase.

The map pack delay is fucking retarded. Although I appreicate your time and effort,
maybe you shouldn't have taken it on with so much on your plate, Giess. I don't
understand why the majority of the maps couldn't have already been released in
a pack.

I understand that this is mainly for comp play.. but understand that pubbin is where
lots of new players come from, and casual pubbing will always be more popular than
the hardcore tribers who play competitivly.

I pray for the day the map pack is released..

Can't someone help you out? Aren't there more people invovled in the map pack like wolverine, fishstix, bit raiser, adept, or anyone? I really would like to pub Blood Veldt that map is so dope.

If you really want a map pack, feel free to get the maps together, make the tweaks that need to be made, package them up and put it out. It's not like Geiss was personally given some special tools and rights to do this, by VUG/ IG / Jesus Christ. You've got the same ability to do it that he has.

Or you could just STFU.

Devo_N, Giess's mappack will be the one mappack to rule them all. Seriously I doubt people will want to download every map a hundred times so that every variation will be covered. With one official community made map pack people can download one pack and be covered for all maps.

Oh yeah and finish minotaur!!! God that map is so great.

Rev my sig is from that mmorpg story some idiot wrote out about his experience play eve or something.

Geiss & co

I agree with Gandalf, in business if you make a commitment you do your best to stick to it. But this isnt business, your not being payed for it. So Geiss take as much time as you need, and release it when your ready and happy with the finished pack.

How can you even try and bust his balls about the map pack release. God damn that just pisses me off.

Keep up the good work Geiss... IF I have time this weekend, which I most likely will, I will patch up Canyon Crusade... unless you already have :)

I can see where Gandalf is coming from, especially if Geiss is not accepting any help with the project.

Of course I have no stake, so it doesn't bother me, but I can understand how it could.
