Downtime and AH Timing

With downtime happening, is anyone certain how the AH responds?

If an item is on "short"... when the servers come back online, will it have ended or will it still be on "short"?

Then go me for low balling 2 min before downtime!

Yes it's a little known fact. When the servers go down for Maintenece, have your eye on something that expires very soon. Chances are if you put in a bid at the last few seconds before you drop, when it comes back up, the auction has ended, and you get it at a great price. If your willing to stay up that late to get it.
