Ive done this quest 3 times now. Finally beat the troll waves, and then, I was resing/healing people so we could fight the NPCs, and the fucking NPC's hearth out....

Jesus christ this shit is annoying at times.

haha that happened to my group once in beta, though i had completed before

also
i recall that part being very easy in beta and i've heard from a buddy it was really hard... i've left my primary for a few weeks and never did it in retail... is it hard now or what?

Its not THAT bad. Def. the hardest thing I've encountered in the game so far, but not that bad.

But the bug that makes it impossible after doing a 30 minute troll rape is maddening.

That temple battle however is one of the coolest events I ever got to experience so far in WoW. Pretty cool of Blizzard.

Its a Piece of cake once you realize how to do it.. stay away from the top edge of the stairs.

If you do you'll only face 5-8 at a time because they run to the top, and don't aggro you, then run back down. Only few will keep going to you.

Stay away from the edge and yopur golden. ANd of course clear that bottom of the stairs before you go up them.

We did it with a 53 warr, 54 hunter. 49 mage and myself at the time was 49 Priest.

ANd the disappearing part happened to us also the first time we "made it". We were pissed.

Its not too bad if you have an intelligent group. Mage for crowd control, warrior for tanking, priest, and then I like a rogue and a shaman. Just remember to keep the Goblin Miner alive because he blows open the door opposite the temple that leads to the other two bosses... also keep Bly alive obviously.

the instance is meant for mid forties!

by level 54 people should be starting on BRD and have thoroughly completed sunken temple!

what

are we playing the same game?

how is a mage going to CC 15 guys? poly? you must be talking about some kind of frost nova strategy right.. ?

how is a warrior going to tank 15 guys? whirlwind? AE taunt?

the trick to the zerg is lots of AE dps, and soft healing. renew, rejuv, keep it up at all times, drop down the aes, keep your NPCs alive (they do some good AE damage) and make sure you drink and bandage between the waves.

If you can't do it with a group of 45-48's something is wrong

I did it a few times in the mid forties range with no problems... Had to rez mid fight a couple times. Best it went was Priest (me), Warlock, Mage, Rogue, Warrior. Having a Paladin also made things a ton easier.

About sunken temple, at 51, I couldn't find a group and had a couple people say I was too low, I just got 52, am I going to magically find a group now? I need some of those quest items dammit. Oh, and where's a good place to find a group for ST?

uh, unless somethings been fixed, all you have to do is talk to Bly in his cage multiple times without unlocking it. Have a couple people try to talk to him, and try over and over, eventually he gets pissed off and aggros on you, and he is the only npc you have to kill thus dropping the rod for everyone with the quest. No waves of trolls, no bullshit. I've been in 3 groups that have done it this way now.

Forensic Yes I know. We waited on the POS quest because it was almost impossible to handle all the groups at once the lat time we tried. (mid 40's) We re-tried and discovered that they didn't all aggro at once if you stayed away from the edge.

Not all qwests skill rating are totally accurate. Some are easier. Most are pretty close. This was one of the worst though. FYI we finished ST waybefore we came back here. Was even white for one guy.

Seeing what frown posted makes me laugh that the dev's would even allow that to be an easy way out. Makes you wonder if their are other ways to do those types.

I've done the zerg about 15 times and the majority of them were done without the use of an AoE caster. 4 melee classes and a priest work fine against them. The npc's do a good job of being front line tanks and they heal themselves. There is also an npc warlock that is pretty good as well to help out. It isn't that difficult at all if you aren't retarded. Just sit behind npcs and have 2 people tank with them. Have 2 people protect caster/healers. If you have a mage it's much easier because he really comes in handy when you need to fight the bosses. Just poly one, kill basilisk and then the priest then deal with the last guy.

No, a mage can crowd control by AEing the non-elites whenever there aren't any elites present. As long as the priest keeps flash heals on the mage, its goes fast and easy.

Obviously you have never played with a warrior who knows how to tank. We have taunt to take single mobs off of people, challenging shout to AE taunt everything for 6 seconds, and intimidating shout that AE fears everything around us for 8 seconds. Now, if the warrior is worth a damn, he will be tanking the Elites while everyone else is handling the mob control, but he should be using Cleave and Whirlwind to keep some of the random aggro on himself so it doesn't go flying off to the priest or the mage.

this thread wasnt about the encounter. its about the bug, which is still in and retarded. I just beat it finally at 48.

Yeah the bug sucks but it's not so difficult to the point where you can't just run it again.

warriors can keep a bit of aggro, but not effective aggro

the real reason you want warriors is because they are very good at AE damage, that is one of the warrior's specialities

what I love to do on that one is get a really high damage 2 hander, build up some rage, hit AE taunt, retaliation, sweeping strikes and then spam cleave

i don't think i've ever had a higher DPS than while doing that in ZF

and i don't bother tanking the elites really, i let the NPCs do it and focus on my AE damage. It's all about the damage output not really handling aggro, the aggro i leave up to the priests who make sure to mainly use renew

intimidation shout.. i did use it once at ZF for fun, the first time I did it when we realised we were going to wipe. But that didn't really help the situation.
