I'm a 38 shaman on Frostwolf.
I've been soloing my entire career cause I'm a casual player. I think I have 6 days played, and that's with my tradeskills maxed for my levels. My guild has outleveled me so I'm playing catch up.
My problem is there are no longer good 'quest centers' where a lot of quests are available for me to bang out solo. More often than not, I need a group, which isn't going to happen.
So what I've been doing is sitting out 3 days, getting enough rested XP that I can bear the grind, and doing instances with pick ups (which generally sucks) to level.
I'd rather have a system I could do daily to keep steady progress.
So what do you guys do?
LogRoller 01-26-2005, 11:02 AM After 30, it is increasingly difficult to solo. Your quest options are severely limited. The game structure really encourages grouping.
I'd find and join a guild that appeals to your nature, if I were you. For me, the guilding aspect really enhances the game. I would not play it if it were not for the guys I play it with.

I'm in a guild of friends I know going back 2, some 3, different games. I know them all IRL, and we're in voice comms every night. These guys are my friends, they just levelled faster than me, but once we're all 60 it'll be fine.
At least I know it wasn't my imagination that questing has pretty much lost all its appeal as a solo player.
JohnWayne 01-26-2005, 11:06 AM Try to get in some SM groups... in a lvl or 2.

Yeah, I think it is definitely designed that way. Forcing grouping in quests will facilitate interest in group tactics, also forcing social interaction, which will cause natural groups and breakouts for Battlegrounds content and therefore drive interest in it. People who only solo will eventually get weeded out.
PUGs are difficult to deal with, but maybe you can get some of your guildmates to help you grind the harder quests with the intent of finding your place in the guild as far as strats and tactics. There is value in that, and if they are 60, they have little else to do.
JohnWayne 01-26-2005, 11:23 AM I miss you Log.

Got Haggis? 01-26-2005, 11:52 AM what happened to those 'group meetingp places' outside instances that were supposed to be patched in?
i'm in a guild with a bunch of people that were on my previous tribes teams....almost all of them are high level than me, and some have even created 2nd characters and caught up to me in lvl (i'm only 31)....but its hella fun - someone is always on vent, no matter the time of day.....couldn't say the same with tribes....and that is what appeals to me about wow - basically the bullshitting on voice coms aspect

I dropped in to search for solutions for some WoW tech issues I am having, and then I fucking posted. Oh well.
You are on Arthas, right JW?

Vermillion1 01-26-2005, 12:17 PM Rogue for teh win! Ive solo'd 95% of my 51 Levels! w00t :roller:
Raven 01-26-2005, 12:35 PM soloing is faster if you grind instead of quest.
soloing is faster if you grind instead of quest.
Especially if you let yourself accumulate rested exp. It's just so much more efficient for me to let my 55 Rogue sit in Orgrimmar for a few days while I play my mage. When I have a full rested exp bar, I just head over to Azshara and grind on Blood Elves at a rate of 60k exp per hour. :bigthumb:

filsinger 01-26-2005, 02:01 PM I will usually hit a peak and have to grind a level or two. But once you reach the next plato of a level you can start a whole new area and there usually tons of quests.

edit: oh and go to scarlet monestary, theres always people doing the lfg thing there
I want to transfer to a server with my TW buddies, but I'm on one of the low pop servers. :(
i would... find a group...
is it that you can't find a group or don't want to group?
You'd be surprised how often you can find decent people (not idiots) in pickup groups. They just seem bad because you only ever hear about the bad experiences.
