wow... Newbs are...wow

So I made an alt, a paladin, got it to level 12 and all to check out the class a little bit.

However, I was bitched at, yelled at, by every freaking newb because I was playing an overpowered class, now, this wouldnt be so bad if they had an actual idea of what the class can do.

90% of them believed the paladin had an instant self res ability with 100% health and mana.

More of them believed a paladin wore plate at level 1.

They believed paladins didnt have to corpse run because of some wierd ability that allowed them to teleport thier ghosts to thier bodies at will.

Now, Im all for paladins undergoing some slight changes, but this made me realize that every "nerf paladin" thread has nothing going for it becuase mostly likely, they've never even looked at the skills a paladin has.

My brain almost exploded when they didnt believe me when I told them paladins couldnt do any of this.

I made a Paladin on Lightning's Blade while Kel'Thuzad was down for 16 hours. Got him to level 14 or so now and all I have to say is wow, this is the most boring class ever.

Seriously, it's just a "wack stuff until it's dead" class. Sometimes I'll get to shield, or heal, or hammer of justice, but other than that I just sit and watch the two HP bars on my screen.

This is true, i got a paladin to about 18 before i stopped playing. It was unbearable.

I liked my paladin but it definately isn't as overpowered as people like to believe, they can take a ton of damage, but they really don't dish it out all that well.

that dumb shield thing lasts too damn long

I suppose, but we can't do physical attacks while we use it, and none of our spell attacks work on anything but undead NPCs.

The thing is when you PvP a paladin(as a shaman) you get the guy down to no health, and then he shields and just heals himself all the way back up and you have to fight him again.

Mostly my run-ins with paladins are determined by who has the most mana, but there is a big bandwaggon of people who call them overpowered and have no idea why, except that other people are complaining.

paladins use that shield to heal themselves and to run up on hunters and mages without taking damage
they can also use it to run away

if it didnt last so long, it wouldnt be a big deal but as it is, i think paladins > most other classes

Yea, Paladins are kinda straight forward in PvE, but it was grouping that was alot of fun. Switching auras and blessing the right party members at the right time, gotta keep it all straight or you mess up and do something useless for a group. Throwing out a shield, healing the priest, it was actually kinda of fun. As a rogue, I put an assist on the warrior and spam backstab, and occasionally distract the random patrol.

While it is boring, it has its moments. PvP and certain instance events are some of the funnest times I've had as a gamer. Say for example healing during 100 trolls? Sure you're just watching HP bars, but when the shit hits the fan and everyone's looking to you to pull them through, it's a great time.

The paladin is not over-powered at all.

The paladin shield abilities are def very over powered in a great deal of situations. They are just poorly implemented with ability to cast them through any kind of silence. Last night was fighting a huge alliance raid in TM and basically they sent in 2 paladins to tank the entire towns guards (which was like 30 guards on 2 paladins plus whoever else shot at them) and we basically had to let them go every time cause 6 seconds was more then enough time for them to hurt some people and still get all the way back to their forces to take no damage.


Basically the problem with their shields becomes pretty blatant when 3 paladins are on one guy killing him and tanking an entire town and taking 0 damage.

It was a given I used seals, judgements, and blessings, you moron. The class is still boring as fuck.

Also, if you think that's the reason why most people hate Paladins, then clearly you need to get a clue. I don't see 50 threads on the WoW forums every day calling for nerf because Paladins are "too boring".

What is a good class to play? I played a hunter to ten I found it pretty fun, any paticular class I should check out?
