Hit 28 last night (i also have a 42 rogue).

The problem with finding a group easy though, is that 80% of the people are fucking stupid.

Last night I was doing a quest (priest, mage, loc, rogue) and it was going ok. We spot another rogue doing the same quest and invite him. Two seconds later the rogues are dueling in the middle of mobs.

I quit shortly there after :)

If you plan on being an ice mage, don't spec frost at 1st. Start of Fire/Arcane so you can get better DPS until you hit about 53+. Pretty much all the points in fire immediately add to your DPS. You need too many combinations of frost talents for it to be really effective and you can't get that combination to develop until you have most of your talent points available to spend.

I'm a 60 mage and still have a 28 arcane and 23 fire build but I'm about to respec to an ice build.

I'm almost solid Arcane.... which is kind of silly really.... But I have the perks of being able to gank really fast with the Fireball -> Arcane Concentration -> Arcane Power -> Fireball -> Fireblast -> any combination of arcane, front nova, dispell, etc..... makes for a killer first strike.

Leveled my mage pretty fast and was highest in my guild for a while, then around the 40s the fact that I like to solo didnt really go well with the fact that as a mage I have to sit and drink for longer then it takes to kill and enemy. I have absolutely no drive to level anymore because unless I get a group(I rarely group outside of freinds), then im stuck soloing/grinding out the levels. Im at 50 with max rested and Ive been playing my rogue so much more instead of my mage just because of the fact that I can constantly grind/quest without having to stop.

Also another thing is all the problems with the mage class. Like subpar dps when compared to rogues or hunters, when we're supposed to be the biggest damage dealers in the game. Also the bugs with blink and arcane missles which have been around since early beta that still havent been addressed.

The mage class is a mess right now and I dont think ill be leveling mine to 60 untill some positive changes are going to be made.

I'm a level 32 mage and I've never experienced these mysterious bugs with blink and missles.

Uhh subpar dps? You have numerous high damage attacks that negate armor! I hardly see how that's subpar...

No crap, plus they can break stuns w/ blink, poly or root w/ frost nova (forgive me if I mess up the names). Or take the damage route and poly then cast a fireblast or fireball to hit for a ton of damage.

If you think you're going to do max DPS over time forget it, rogues are damage dealers.

Mage's strengths are AEs mostly taking out concentrated crowds, and poly in PvP.

As a rogue, Mages are the second hardest target for me to bring down. First, by far, being Paladins.

If I don't get a mage down in the first 5 seconds, there's a good chance he'll kite the fuck out of me. So far opening with cold blood ambush, backstab, evis has been doing the trick. There's a chance they'll survive and run, but I can't tell you how many mages I've crossbowed down while stuck in frost nova.

50 mage. I haven't played him in a while though (since I started my 44 rogue about 2 weeks ago). Had I been smart, I'd have made sure to keep using his rested xp, but... well, I'm not that smrt.

edit: I'm spec'd fire/arcane. I haven't really investigated frost, though I probably will in the future. fire/arcane just seemed like the most straightforward path when I started.
