I'm just curious as to how you guys think about druids? The consensus I usually get is that they suck. From my standpoint, as a shaman, they seem to be a weird crossbreed between a warrior and a mage, but don't really get any of the strong points of either of them.

To me, they seem like a quasi-shaman who's not as strong, but can shapeshift(which isn't good unless you want a bear and take over as tank if he dies) Can't heal nearly as good, doesen't do tons of damage and ectera.

This is the idea i get from most players, now let's see what TW thinks about druids.

We can do pretty much everything but we can't do any of it especially well.

odd i'm doing fine with mine.
I heal way more than the shams i group with, i tank better than them (without dire bear form) and do just as much damage melee wise and way more spell wise than they do.

Druids are pretty good soloers (not much downtime if you micromanage well) but like it's been said they aren't a master of anything. Priests will heal better, warriors will tank better, mages will nuke better. My brother played one for a bit but he just got tired of having to press so many keys during a mob fight to be effective.

If Blizz ever fixes the Balance & Feral trees, they might be worth playing. In my eye I'm a gimped shamen who can heal a bit better but can't wear mail. Sure I can sub in for a priest, but if shit hits the fan I've got nothing. No shield (for me or tank), no fear, nothing. I'm good at dying really fast, that's about it :l

Only thing worth a damn about druids is buffing people with Mark~

dont underestimate their tanking too much. with a second set of armor (or balanced set) the dire form can tank just as good as a warrior in terms of dmg taken but they have a bit more trouble with the aggro management (then again you can never guarantee if your warrior sucks or not)

i think druids and shamans are a good duo to have in an instace. druids for spellbuffs and backup healing (or primary if need be) with shamans assisting some heals (or offtanking) and dropping some totem buffs

Does anyone have any good links (or experience) with an effective talent build for druids? I have a friend who plays one, and she's starting to think that her build is gimped. Apparently, she has seen druids taking on mobs 2-3 levels above them without difficulty and she cannot.

My druid is lvl 50 now, still enjoying it, i respecced my talents to full healing spec for the upcoming big instances, thinking of doing a more balance orientated spec for PvP at 60.

druids can outheal a priest heal for heal i think, but they have a smaller mana pool.

I find the forms more or less useless unless i'm grouped, which is rare (druid is my solo, goof around when my friends aren't around toon). DPS is much better in caster form, and you can use items :P

Personally I prefer the druid over the priest, for fun-ness, more armour (a little anyway, heh) and the option of the forms in a pinch.. they're not the most broken class out there ;)

My druid is level 51 now and he is great. I can easily be the main healer in an instance and I can tank mobs higher level then me.

I am currently heavily restoration specced. Nature's Swiftness is incredible and with innvenerate I rarely have to drink in an instance and never while outside.

My only wants for the class is a non combat rez with out a timer. This would eliminate the need for a priest or paladin in groups. Also an upgrade to cat form would be nice.

Oh yes you can tank better with LEATHER and no SHIELD.

99% of warriors don't use a shield anyway.

I would rather have a shaman 1h w/ shield as 2nd healer for my group than a dr00d anyday of the week.

Having a druid in your group with be key for PvP. For PvE we are all just innervate bots.

There are a select few who think they know how to play druids, no names mentioned, *cough* loot stealers *cough*.... but the class is broken atm.

Give it time. Right now they fair well for group PvP... and do decent in PvE.. depending on how you spec, and what you want to do with it... that depends on how usefull you will be.

You can spec and do 1 thing very well. Or realize you aren't a mage and spec the unique abilities that make your class a Druid and excel.

So. If you want to be a duel whore, ask Mokoto for his spec. If you want to learn how to be useful in PvP/PvE groups with high level instances... toss me a PM.

The best things Druids have going for them are Mark of Wild, Entangling Roots, and Nature's Grasp (see: Entangling Roots).

I have found myself to be pretty useful in PvP, I spec'd all the way to feline swiftness in feral and now I am putting a lot into restoration

And hibernate...this bitch druid was chain hibernating me yesterday, 30 sec. sleep each time (She was 30 levels above me)

I almost think that Druids are more powerful than the "OMG SO POWERFUL" Shamans. They heal better, they tank better, the shamans main advantage seems to be our melee skills (Hello windfury =D) and negligable totems

Druids are as good a healer as a shadow spec priest and they get to wear leather.
