um.. hibernate shouldn't work on you, unless you're a beast or a dragon.

edit: apparently it works against shifted players, shaman wolf and duid beast forms. eeeeenteresting. Did not know that :)
CandyMan 01-19-2005, 05:44 PM Oh yes you can tank better with LEATHER and no SHIELD.
Yes, because only 1 shaman i've seen uses a shield, they all opt for a 2 handed weapon. Mail only comes in at 40.
what the fuck are you talking about
you don't tank better than shamans or do as much damage melee wise
Check again, because i do tank more and better than the shaman's as well as deliver more damage than they do.
And to whoever said the only good things they have are mark, entangle and hibernate you apparently haven't used much. Wrath, moonfire, star, tranquility and hurricane are all excellent use spells. Especially if you tune your talents to wrath/moon/star for quicker cast and lower lower mana cost.

your shamans are the shittiest shamans i have ever seen then
we use 2H when we're in groups for extra damage. i dont know a single shaman that doesnt carry a high end 1H and shield combo for when they need to tank or use theyre AoE totems and receive some aggro.
40 is when shit starts hitting the fan anyway.
Check again, because i do tank more and better than the shaman's as well as deliver more damage than they do. if you are tanking its in dire bear and any shaman that isnt a piece of shit will outdamage you easily. i have to hold back sometimes to make sure the druid dire tank can keep aggro

Well, it did. I even mousedover the little icon and it definitely said "Hibernate"
Yakuza 01-20-2005, 02:53 AM My hommie runs a druid and they seem to be pimpalicious
Calamari 01-20-2005, 11:06 AM Druids are as good a healer as a shadow spec priest and they get to wear leather.
Until they run out of mana...
Druids are as good a healer as a shadow spec priest and they get to wear leather.
Priest + Inner Fire = Leather wearer
Priest + Inner Fire + Shadowform = Mail wearer
Xeri0us 01-20-2005, 02:26 PM Ive seen full restoration druids heal just as good as priests minus the fact that they dont have holy sheild. Their HoT spells heal alot better then the priests renew, and they can nuke and debuff while not having to worry about all their mana.

What class do you play? were you in a beast form?
If not, it's probably a bug and if it happens again I'd appeal it.

Shaman, i cant remember if i was a wolf at the time, i dont think i was.
Sojourn 01-21-2005, 07:53 AM odd i'm doing fine with mine.
I heal way more than the shams i group with, i tank better than them (without dire bear form) and do just as much damage melee wise and way more spell wise than they do.
I'd very much like to know how you can tank better outside of dire bear than a shaman, who wears mail, and uses a shield.
Sojourn 01-21-2005, 08:04 AM Machine']And hibernate...this bitch druid was chain hibernating me yesterday, 30 sec. sleep each time (She was 30 levels above me)
I almost think that Druids are more powerful than the "OMG SO POWERFUL" Shamans. They heal better, they tank better, the shamans main advantage seems to be our melee skills (Hello windfury =D) and negligable totems
More powerful? No. For one simple reason.. Druids need to shapeshift to be all those things.
Can they heal better than a shaman? Yes. In their normal form.
Can they tank better? Yes, in Dire Bear form.
See, that's the weakness of a Druid. They have excellent versatility, but they need to shapeshift to be versatile. If a shaman (or any melee class for that matter) starts hacking away at me in close quarters my main defense is to go dire bear to outlast him.. which is all find and good, but I can't cast in dire bear form, can I? So if I get low hps, and I need to heal.. I need to shapeshift. Not only does that suck up a lot of my mana, I have about 1.5 seconds before I can cast anything, and my armor and HP are greatly decreased.. so if I happen to do that when you're wailing away on me, I'm going to die.
If a Druid was chain hibernating you, you were in wolf form.. which is your own fault for being stupid. That doesn't make them overpowered, it makes you stupid.
Sojourn 01-21-2005, 08:12 AM Ive seen full restoration druids heal just as good as priests minus the fact that they dont have holy sheild. Their HoT spells heal alot better then the priests renew, and they can nuke and debuff while not having to worry about all their mana.
Our HoT spells are a lot better than priests, IMO. But for a primary healer I think priests are far superior. It's not so much the casual instance mobs that make the difference.. it's the "Holy shit, the tank is about to die!" times where I really think the priest shines. Not only do they have shield, but they have multiple flash healing spells. A Druid has 1 flash healing spell, once every 3 minutes, and -only- if he is restoration speced.
motoko 01-22-2005, 06:15 AM 99% of warriors don't use a shield anyway.
Any good warrior will equip one when they are tanking something that hits extremely hard.
e.g. Drakk in upper spire.
motoko 01-22-2005, 06:22 AM The best things Druids have going for them are Mark of Wild, Entangling Roots, and Nature's Grasp (see: Entangling Roots).
This does pretty much sum up druids.
Aside from these 3 things we are useless. Also, damage output of a druid is extremely weak compared to other classes. I've got to the point where I'm sick of how gimped druids are and have made an alt for when BG comes in.
As for bear form it's pretty useless. You soak up damage a bit better, but you miss so much you aren't doing any damage. Duel some rogues, you'll find out how weak druids are.
JodoFett 01-22-2005, 07:06 AM Dunno, I dueled a 44 rogue and I managed to get him pretty low on health with a lvl 39 druid.
motoko 01-22-2005, 07:24 AM Low level shit means nothing, duel a 60 rogue with a 60 druid.
That's when they are carrying ~

JohnWayne 01-22-2005, 12:20 PM Machine']Shaman, i cant remember if i was a wolf at the time, i dont think i was.
You can sleep Shamans who are in travel form. As well as all forms of Druids and Hunter's Pets.
Also.... Mokoto believes he knows how to play a Druid.
My advice... don't listen to him.
He wants Druids to do more damage, so do I.
He wants Druid changes to be made, so do I.
The difference between us 2 is that I specc so I am able to provide my group with the full array of support. I can Suppress.
Let me make it easy for Mokoto :
sup·press ( P ) Pronunciation Key (s-prs)
tr.v. sup·pressed, sup·press·ing, sup·press·es
To put an end to forcibly; subdue.
To curtail or prohibit the activities of.
To keep from being revealed, published, or circulated.
To deliberately exclude (unacceptable desires or thoughts) from the mind.
To inhibit the expression of (an impulse, for example); check: suppress a smile.
To reduce the incidence or severity of (a hemorrhage or cough, for example); arrest
I can do it all with my spec. Not just "try" to do damage and complain about it.
The only thing I lose is Omen of Clarity... but then again, I shouldn't be melee in caster form... in the first place.
I have learned from playing my Druid, he has not. I advise you guys to take other people's word instead of this joker.

motoko 01-22-2005, 01:27 PM Basically what he's saying is~
If you don't enjoy winning duels...
and if you enjoy doing nothing but rooting enemies for your teamates in large scale pvp...
play druid!
Bottom line is the class is pretty gimped. If you want to play a gimped character, play a warrior ~ at least you can tank in instances and dish out some heavy damage in pvp raids.
And John, my spec is not duel bases. 31rest/20 balance - omen, swiftness, innervate. Love to see what's such a better build, come duel me some time.
