Ok... I've been at college for ever. 5.5 years, and then an extra year I took off to work for a shitty ass company making a shitty as computer game (i.e. Horizons)
But I'm finally graduating. Purdue University class of 2004, with a B.S. in Computer Graphics Technology. It's a damn fine school and a damn fine program, but my professer decided he wanted to fuck my academic career in the ass as a Christmas gift.
I walked through commencement a week ago today (Sunday), so my wife, my parents, my prospective employer, they are all expecting me to graduate. When behold my grades, revealed on the eve of Christmas eve, indicate a "D" in my Raster Imaging (aka. PHOTOSHOP) class. Any grade below "C" in a degree-specific field will halt the granting of a degree.
Bewildered how my l33t Photoshop skills warranted a D in a class that I was kicking ass in, I looked up my grade.
Project 2 - 0% - F
wtf... so I go pull out my notebook for the semester and find the grade sheet I was returned for Project 2 .... 93% - A - Good Work.
The following e-mail ensues : :
I checked my grades today, and was very suprised to find that I received a "D" in your class. I went to the grades page on the course website and saw that my project 2 was scored as a 0.
I know definitely that I received a 93% on that project, because in fact I had to go to you specifically to have it returned since you graded it late and seperately because it was based on my project 2 from the first time I took the class. The grade sheet in my hand with your name on it says to me that you fucked up.
I was in line to receive my degree, I even walked through commencement with my wife and family present, but that will likely not happen now because of this clerical error. I have already moved out of the West Lafayette area, and this could cause some massive inconvenince with the employer I had lined up.
To be honest, you're one of the worst professors I've ever had going through this program. Project 2 was due 9 fucking weeks ago. You had 63 days to put my grade properly in the computer. I'm CC'ing this e-mail to the dean of the department, so he can stick a lump of coal in your Christmas bonus.
Fix the problem Monday, or you can expect to hear from the PU Dean of Students office with a formal complaint and a formal grade appeal on Tuesday.
Please e-mail me about this matter as soon as possible. Bastard.

No response yet. I just needed to vent.
Tim, Andy... other Purdue CGT'rs ... my God have mercy on your soul.
