Trying to gauge how many peeps are playing T:V, that have never played any other version of Tribes.
Really we need to start a poll like this. Just so we can have an idea of how many new people TV has brought into the community. I know it's low, just wondering how low.
Botchla 12-11-2004, 10:30 AM I personally started about 6 months after T1 was released.
Geiss 12-11-2004, 10:36 AM i started about a year before T2 was released, but really only got into T2 around the time of B++... and by "got into" i mean started getting a mind for trying to be on a competition team.
Arcanox 12-11-2004, 10:46 AM I started a few months before T2 was released, then did everything I needed to know in T1, then more T2, now T:V and then some T1&2.
hairypotterdotorg 12-11-2004, 11:48 AM You guys know how to read?
Dream 12-11-2004, 12:05 PM I started only a month before T:V was released and barely played T2 enough to say I played the game, so Yes, this is the first tribes game I played.
Hellsfury 12-11-2004, 12:56 PM Dec 28th, 1998... the day the universe changed.
Kachu 12-11-2004, 01:52 PM I played tribes one. I Really played Tribes II. And Im just now getting into T:V since school ended friday

So it's fair to say that, so far you are the only new addition to the Tribes community.
Welcome!! :)
Rocko 12-11-2004, 04:03 PM No. But it will probably be the last tribes game I play after seeing how incredibly bad this one failed.
[apoc] 12-11-2004, 04:58 PM I started when I bought T2 for 9.99 on May 23 2003. The time was about 5:30pm and it was a warm sunny day. My girlfriend was with me at the time, but as it ends up, she and tribes didn't get along. Even still at the mention of "tribes" she freaks.
sc4r4b 12-11-2004, 05:06 PM I tired the first Tribes but I was put off by it because it was so different from quake and people were always yelling at me to "move" at the inventory stations. So I didn't give it a chance that I should have. I ended up buying Tribes2 shortly after the release and really got into it. I've played it on and off for a few years in between decent single player PC games. Now, 3 PC's later, I have moved over to T:V...
I played Tribes 1 & 2 from inception.
Now I play T:V and love the game. It has problems but I really like many aspects of the game.
It all started for me in November of 1999. When I was talking about gaming with a friend from work. He told me about online gaming and the coolest game out at the time was Tribes.
I went out and bought the game. I tried playing with dailup, the lag was so horrible, a month later I got dsl. At the time I had a Creative Labs Savage 3D card. My FPS was suckage. The video card to have in those days was a VooDoo3 3000. 3DFX was the shiznit back in those days. My Savage card was on OpenGL card and it did'nt work very good with T1. So I went out and got a VooDoo3 3000.
I started out playing T1 renegades and pretty much played that till T2 came out. I tried a little of base, but I would die too easy all the time, so I kept my newbie ass in renegades.
I got T2 the same week it came out. I mainly played base, base++ and classic. T2 renegades sucked major so I never got into that one.
Funnay thing was, the VooDoo3 3000 card I had did not do too good with T2. Actually thats one of the main things the made T2 so unpopular with T1 players. Allot of peeps went out and spend $400-500 on VooDoo4's and 5 and shazbot. But T2 was designed around OpenGL, which ironically was the first card I had, ,heh. So I went out and bought an Nvidia GF2 ultra.
And I got T:V the same week it came out also :o
That is my autobiography, hope yall enjoyed it all.
