Wacky internet problem

I have two computers hooked up to a Linksys router. Both computers use internet explorer. On the "left" computer, hotmail will freeze when I log in to check mail. On the "right" computer, hotmail and some other sites get a "cannot be displayed" error, even though I can use them on the other computer. I have firefox on the left computer as well, and everything works fine with that browser. However, my parents are used to Internet Explorer, and they do not want to switch to Firefox.

What could be the reason for some websites not working on one computer and others do?

I am at school right now, so I can't give more detailed information.

Different kinds of spyware?

Do a spy sweep and a virus detection on both comps.

Hmm, I'll try updating the firmware for the router.
