Cinderkarst 11-23-2004, 10:49 AM Why is it every Tribes game needs to be a clone of Tribes with better graphics. Seriously, i'd like that explained. Ohnoes! It looks different! And...and...there are different weapons, and it uses the unreal engine OMGOMGOMG. Cry, seriously. I don't care if T:V doesn't do as well as T2, at least T:V works. As long as there's a good ladder and good competition, it'll be fine. Pubs are stupid, let's be honest.
And any problems with it are bullshazbot, a patch will fix them, and one is coming soon.
Why does every Tribes game have to be like the others? Because if it isn't exactly the same then it's not Tribes. And everyone who doesn't see it the same as them is not a "true" Tribes fan.
At least that's what the general opinion of the trolls is.
Nikoui 11-23-2004, 11:00 AM This week-end, I joined a game with just 2 players, in order to try some things. I started chatting with the two other players, about their past tribes experience, etc. The first player was a tribes vet, the second one had just played sometimes on T2, and was trying TV for the first time.
While chatting, a new player, followed by another, join us. Then we started to play "for real".
At the end of the map, we were 16 players with lots of "gg" on the screen. I stayed on this server for some hours, and the player count had never dropped under 15.
So, I choose an "empty" server, and just by staying in it for some minutes, it goes almost full...
I had a lot of fun, as did the TV noob I was chatting with. TV is fun, and as others people said, I will still play it, as long as I can find players to play with - and this had never been a problem yet.
blissful 11-23-2004, 11:24 AM I play, I have fun, I'm buzzed after playing, then I come here and read alot of enthusiasm and ensuing crybaby posts
does baby get a lollipop if they cry enough? or does mummy ignore their pleas for something that is bad for their wellbeing? perhaps baby best move on and get over it, the sooner they learn they wont get it by crying the less hard it will be on them
perhaps baby might grow up one day and figure a way to get their own lollipop.. or perhaps baby enjoys the act of crying more than being handed something on a silver platter
who knows, who cares.. I guess I should start filling my ignore lists with all the trolls who are incapable of making an objective opinion in the "correct" thread
piecemaker 11-23-2004, 11:39 AM hehe
i would say the babies simply stopped playing the game and moved on to something else.
Take a look at gamespy stats ( http://archive.gamespy.com/stats/ ), the game isnt even on the list anymore.
guess thats because the "babies" didnt get what they wanted?
and most serious players dont even post anymore here. they gave up already.
why arguing about a failed game with trolls who would even claim that t:v is exactly what everyone has to want?
americanjoe 11-23-2004, 12:41 PM who knows, who cares.. I guess I should start filling my ignore lists with all the trolls who are incapable of making an objective opinion in the "correct" thread
make sure you get bitraiser on that list, oh, but then you'll just be ignoring yourself .. but that might be a good thing.
Fafhrd_ 11-23-2004, 12:59 PM I have fun playing this game as-is. There are some problems, but they don't keep me from enjoying it.
I fail to see how people here, who have played the other tribes games, can go off and play Halo2 or Doom3 and get more satisifaction than what T:V brings.
rookie 11-23-2004, 01:08 PM It's an awesome game and the movement physics > t1 and t2's even without carving at this stage.
FishStix 11-23-2004, 01:23 PM I enjoy playing the game. need i effing say more? It's fun factor, no bullsh!t. i wouldn't play it if i didn't like it. juxtaposed with T1, its not that good, because T1 is the best game ever created. But jaxtaposed with any other game ever (yeah, EVER) its pretty damn good.
.

hahaha
Nicodemus 11-23-2004, 03:02 PM Believe it or not, a lot of people love the game. Keep acting like you have an informed opinion when you likely played the game once, realised you suck at skiing and gave up on it.
Keep acting like you have an informed opinion on me and my gaming skill.
ArchangelX 11-23-2004, 03:09 PM I love it and play every night. Good game, and I'm a T1/T2 vet as well. Not all vets hate it...it's given me much alotta fun, and definetly LESS hassle than T2 ever did. I had to buy a new computer to play T2. :(
black label 11-23-2004, 08:29 PM I won the game at TribalWars West, for free. I sold it. Yes its great. Really. Keep tellin yourselves that while you're one of the 30 idiots left playing the game in a week.
30 is alot the way it looks right now.
Piata 11-23-2004, 08:47 PM Keep acting like you have an informed opinion on me and my gaming skill.
Wasn't questioning your gaming skill... just how much of a chance you gave T:V.
The people that complain about the game either don't have the hardware or connection to play the game properly, are complete noobs and get owned in pubs, or are T1 or T2 diehards that won't accept anything a little bit different than their games that they should go back playing and STFU and leave us T:V'ers in peace.
:signed:
I played T2 for about a year. I love TV now. And all this bullshazbot about 30 players....I just played 5 minutes ago with 470 players online. I have never been online with less than 250.
javajeff 11-24-2004, 12:43 AM I really like Tribes Vengence as well. I could not see going back to Tribes 2, but there are some things that I really miss:
1) Tribes 2 has loads of personality. Maybe Tribes V will have it too once people learn the hotkeys for all the taunts and communication.
2) Tribes 2 maps. Hopefully some will be remade for T:V.
3) Shocklance
While I liked the vehicles a little better in Tribes 2, they were more necessary since the maps were bigger. I prefer the speed of T:V with less need of the vehicles. However, people are starting to use the vehicles more like guarding flags and placing the rover spawn point....etc. I think overall, Tribes Vengence is a great game and can continue to develop if it is supported by the community.
Nicodemus 11-24-2004, 03:09 AM Wasn't questioning your gaming skill... just how much of a chance you gave T:V.
Considering I played it since Beta 2, through demo, then got the game for free, installed it, and saw that nothing has change since demo except for some added maps, ......
You tell me the chance I gave T:V. I argued with Trax at TW:W multiple times about how effing newbie the game was. Apparantly you weren't in TT during its whole beta stage. I think I had tried to save everything that took skill in the game in which they removed with each beta stage.
You can promptly shut your rat trap now. Thank you, come again.
The Pumpkin King 11-24-2004, 03:11 AM I'm glad you love the game. You and the other 2 people that like it can play it to your hearts content.
