Funny, I thought MMORPG's where the Tribes killer... Try asking all these teams that are leaving why they had to drop. Hell, ask KORE why they lost a few members... You can blame it all on MMORPG's... those are the Tribes Killers. Period.

News Flash: T:V Sucks.

These excuses are amazing.

First it was because Europe players didn't have T:V yet.
Then it was because Marketing.
Now it's because MMORPGS's?

Truth be told, the game bites.

The game is great, it's just that it has some rough edges (eff you whoever is to blame for releasing the game with them).

And the differences between Q1, Q2 and Q3 were almost as big as the ones in the Tribes games. Indeed the weapons were more or less the same, but the physichs changed so much that every new one would alienate a big part of the previous one's community.

And Tribes just needs a whole new set of newbs to become vets. The average age for the regular Tribes vet is higher when compared with the ones from other FPSs. They are just too old to change or accept changes or care to spend time to become good again.

if gamers don’t like a game that they bought, they have every right, if not every obligation, to speak out about it.

being a game developer is a privilege and if you cannot deliver what you promise, you should be flogged and fired like you would be in any other industry.

referring to criticism as whining is so.. :closet:

The main reason I don't enjoy the game that much is it's usually impossible to get on a server with more than 10-12 people playing it. I'm in Australia and this is our situation with tv, 1 server gets people on it at a time, there's nobody at all playing before 4-5 in the arvo.

At night things pick up a bit and the 1 server usually get full for an hour or 2, and by 12:30 everyone is gone again.

I actually enjoy the game when theres people to play against and I think if they fixed the bugs it could be a great game...but roaming around a server with 5 other people in it looking for a fight (cause ctf is nothing more than a joke with that many) just isn't fun.

I think the biggest thing killing T:V is that the majority of the "hard core" community has "grown up."

Kids are a big part of any games success. 22+ y.o. guys with jobs, girlfriends, bills , etc. will never comprise the bulk of a game's audience. This problem is exacerbated as the aging guys approach/get over 30.

The Tribes franchise missed a big window when T2 severely missed expectations. Not attracting new players to take over for the then "older" players is a terrible shame.

Had T2 not sucked SO bad through base (especially at release), I'm sure people would have more patience with T:V.

This depends greatly on the game.

So now it's T2's fault that T:V sux?

Come on, the reason is it was designed to get newer players in but at the same time it ended up alienating the vets. The only people singing its praises are the fanatics...

It's too easy imo.... and thats the problem!!

Tribes was NEVER supposed to be easy.....

'T2 hard to learn, impossible to master' compared to 'T:V easy to learn, bored in a month'

There is a problem with this concept of T2 ruining the series. The amount of gamers who are out there who never experienced tribes and the amount of gamers that are added to the industry every year would be more then enough to create the most popular fps in the world. Also this concept of mmorpgs killing tribes would be great except for the fact that CS had 100k online yesterday and several other games got over 10k online. Amazing how these other games don't seem to be effected. If T:V was truly a great game it wouldn't matter what the hell else was out there, people would have a desire to play.

all this did was alienate the t1 crybabies, and maybe all vets.

so what is the big deal if the vets wernt crying, it still wouldnt have the attention it deserves. but it did grab a few new players.
