I decided to reinstall Tribes 2, I downloaded the 90 meg update from Fileplanet, installed and I recieve an error "Your version (0.25034.0.0) of Tribes 2 is out of date, but there are no updates to update Tribes 2 to the latest version."

Are you saying the CD version I payed $50 for will not work, and I now have to waste time downloading an entire game? Please tell me you're joking.

Change your Tribes 2 shortcut to..
C:\Tribes2\Tribes2.exe -online
Instead of using the Autoupdater.

Do you mean in the shortcut properties under "Target"?

Ya. Probably reads something like sierraupdate.exe or something rightnow..
Change to Tribes2.exe -online
:)

When I try to change it, it says "The name 'C:\Program Files\Dynamix\Tribes2\Gam eData\Tribes2.exe -online' specified in the Target box is not valid. Make sure the path and file name are correct."

I wonder if you're accidently removing some quotes somewhere.
Quotes should only cover to the .exe and not include the -online.
So, should read..
"C:\Program Files\Dynamix\Tribes2\Gam eData\Tribes2.exe" -online

It actually won't have quotes, you need to add them

try tribes2.exe -online -login ... that would be the problem

The quotes are only needed if there's a space in the path name. Just take your old shortcut and change 'SierraUp.exe' to 'Tribes2.exe'.
"C:\Program Files\Dynamix\Tribes2\Gam edata\Tribes2.exe" -online
or
C:\Dynamix\Tribes2\Gameda ta\Tribes2.exe -online
-login only matters if you put username and password after it, otherwise it does nothing.
