Alrighty... When I try to run some games on my system (Dawn of War, NFSU2, WoW) they will run absolutely fine at high FPS, but then completely freeze up for a few seconds before returning to normal. I've tried decreasing settings to as low as possible and it still has the same issues.

System:

AMD XP 2100
512mb RAM umm... I'm not sure what type I need to check this
Geforce Ti 4400

Some other places I've read suggest this might either be a swapping issue or a temperature problem. HAELp! :\

I assume you have windows XP...

1.right click on My Computer, properties, advanced tab, settings, advanced, virtual memory --> change, select no paging file, click set, reboot.

2.defragment your drive.

3.repeat but this time choose custom size, set initial and max size to 800, click set, reboot.

4.defragment again.

Leech, I'm having the exact same problem.

I play for a couple minutes no problems (sometimes as long as 20 minutes) but then it begins. play for 1 - 3 minutes, freeze for 3 - 5 seconds. Happens both single player and multiplayer. In multiplayer I 'come to' in a different place, clearly the server is still registering my inertia.

My system:
MSI K8N Neo mobo
120GB sata HD
BFG GeForce 6800 GT oc
1.5GB of Crucial Ballistix RAM
AMD FX 64 3200 CPU
2 120mm case fans, aluminum case, 400w power source...

Dewayne, have you tried this virtual memory reset? Just seems a little odd, but I'm willing to try it.
