What is the easiest way to move data from an old HD onto a new computer?

I've upgraded and built about 3 new computers over the last 6 years but kept the same HD in all of them. Now I finally upgraded and bought everything new, but I've never had to move data across HD's before.

Please tell me this is an easy thing to do :|

Edit: The HD's are in two seperate computers, in case anyone was confused.

You can build a computer, but you can't figure out how to take the hard drive out of the old one and put it in the new one to take the data off?

get a program called USMT from microsoft. run it on the computer BEFORE you re-install or on the old computer before you turn it off for the last time..

Save the stuff out to the network or onto another hard drive

Install new computer, run USMT again and it zaps all your stuff back over.

btw, usmt user state migration tool
