A big ol W T F right there... any clue what it means or how to fix it?

CombineLayerWeights...
Ah... yeah, I had something like this bite me in the arse too. The map worked fine for me, but when a friend tried to launch it, the got an error much like that one.
Some more info would be helpful (like when did the crash happen?), but here's some things that might help:
How big is your map? Single very large terrains seem to be a little on the flakey side.
How many texture layers do you have going on? I don't know what sort of limits are in place, but if you have too many overlapping alpha maps you could be freaking ther render out.
Try saving off a copy of your map and removing some terrain textures, or limiting them so you don't have a whole pile overlapping in the same place.
Hope that helps... bring more info and we'll see what we can see.

i'll try this. hopefully it'll work.

GL.
I had to export my terrain map and start over with it's texturing. Lost all the smoothing I did too.
Pain in the arse, but I learned something... I think.

ok, when i went in to check the terrain, and turned on the grid toggle for each layer, some of the layers were outside the boundaries cuz i was lazy when painting. im removing them now, here's to hoping that works...
if it does feign will be released tonight!

and you'll have me to thank for it! :p
Just kidding. Good luck again.

not yet... still working. maybe there's a cap to how many terrain levels you can have =(

nope, no go. guess i'll have to start from where i left off on the old one... =(

Did you try removing all the terrains?
You still haven't mentioned when this crash occurs... is it while loading the map in game?
How big is the terrain you're working on?
i get these every now and then just some stupid shazbot cause the editor is unstable.

OH! Geiss... one more thing to try! Check your auto backups. There might be a version in there that doesn't have this instability. Could save you some work anyway.

Are you using a shader in your terrain? If so, remove it or change it to a regular texture.
