thats fine like I said I don't have a problem with it.... just trying to point out the fact that alot of people have a certain perception of tribalwar... trying to make you see that and why they think that way.. for the betterment of you and the rest of the community

Is there any way for a map submitter to change screenshots after it's been uploaded?

I accidentally sent a screen from the older version of a map.

The proper screens should be these:
1. http://www.savant-online.net/graphics/dunes_ss6.jpg
2. http://www.savant-online.net/graphics/dunes_ss7.jpg
3. http://www.savant-online.net/graphics/dunes_ss8.jpg
4. http://www.savant-online.net/graphics/dunes_ss9.jpg

That's up to the author.

We don't have a strict naming convention.

I think that's a mistake, but one where VengeanceMaps could differentiate itself.

Enforce version numbers on uploads in the submission form. Don't allow the same version to be uploaded twice. Change the file names upon upload to enforce the naming convention. Require separate entry of components, not a zip file, so that all components (readme, tvm, mopp, pkg, etc.) follow the naming convention, and to make it easy to assemble map packs with correct directory structure and non-conflicting names. (Try assembling a map pack when every submission has a readme.txt!) Don't allow weird characters in file names. Automagically generate the compressed files for redirects upon submission. (Community redirect servers need to support multiple versions of the same map.)

I guess I will say the real reason I am upset.... I tracked a tribalwar staff member who I will not name on the vengeance maps forums, where I proceeded to watch him read all the suggestions as well as a post of what was going to be included in the vengeancemaps update (post now deleted to make sure no one else trys) then two days later I see maps.tribalwar.com go up with all those features.... thats what pissed me off more then anything. Once again like I said its great to have a centralized site and yes it helps the community... but only to a degree, when you have everything in one place its bad, this is a simple sociology proven fact.

yea, ok. 2 days? I have irc logs that say this started months ago.

When you create a custom map pack, everything is zipped and a readme file is generated from the descriptions and stuff for each file. So I get around that problem.

Has this point been made yet? The UI for this sucks. Please remake the UI for this map database. Maybe I missed it being tired, but why is it so hard to find where you click to view every map that has been uploaded under a sub catagory.

The map site is very nice. One big request though. Make it so that in order to rate, you have to leave a comment. It is helpful to get some type of feedback, both for the map maker and those who are considering downloading the map.

Thanks for giving us another nice place to post our maps! :)

You click map archive in the right menu then click the sub category.

I think it's fairly obvious.

Yogi, I sent you an email last week asking to be a Map Reviewer, you read my short review of Arid, liked it, and said you would set me up by the weekend. So when do I get to review the other maps? I have a few reviews already saved as .doc's and can copy/paste them quickly. Just looking for a date.
