Last night I tagged some poor bastard running HO with midair discs three times in a row. Add in the few hand grenades I tossed his way, and he was convinced there was something more than skill and luck going my way.
Truth is, he wasn't moving very fast, and the velocity he did have almost exactly matched my speed and direction, and I was having a wicked good game. Even so, there is a host of players out there that can outshine me on my best day, and getting accused of cheating isn't a fun experience. Especially if it is going to happen on a regular basis.
i've seen more people that i figure use aim bot MISS with discs than hit. if someone's hitting me with discs, and doesnt use chain cept to finish me off, i just figure "hell stay away from them they're better than me"
=)
just my two cents. cheets i've seen were chain/snipe in pubs, and the blaster on the vids. but who uses blaster in a pub???
cup_o_beer 11-09-2004, 08:22 PM This is a very fragile time for T:V .. first with all the talk of it not living up to expectations. blah bla.h.. and now Cheaters all over the place.. This game has not been out long enough to take a blow like this.. Counter-Strike survived it. I hope T:V does but I fear it will chase off either Veterans or new players who read these forums or listen to here say. Gonne be interesting to see what heppnes in the next month or so.

Any heavy accusing people of cheating for being MA'ed three times in a row obviously hasn't played too much T:V.
ShanghaiDilly 11-10-2004, 10:03 AM True. Getting MA'd while in heavy is just par for the course.
But here's a real oddity - last night, on a 5150 server, a player, who was NOT sniping, had 24 skill points, and only 22 total points? (Must have been a few team kills in there). Weird, huh?
Amadeus 11-10-2004, 12:13 PM I got accused of using speedhacks for skiing... :hrm:
Getting accused of cheating when you know you're not is the ultimate compliment. Why would you get irritated with that?

Not all that strange. Sometimes all I go for is MAs, not really paying attention to the rest of the game, and wind up with 20+ MAs. I guess I could also kill some teammates in the process for the hell of it, I just choose not to.
Also, the aimbot does't "snap" on to teammates, so at least you know the tk's are legit.

It stinks getting booted from a server for it.

1) Unwarranted kicks/bans (yes, I have been banned from a demo server for good HO'ing)
2) People who make these comments are usually total n00bs who have no clue about the game, but they feel free to make the ilusion that cheating is rampant in pubs. Also, the fact that they don't believe that you actually can go that fast without a cheat means that they will never attempt to do it themselves.
