my system,
p4 3ghz @ 3.4
p4p800 deluxe mobo
ati x800pro
512mb pc3200
adsl connection
I get around 50-30 fps most of the time. It drops to the low 20's alot......
This is in 1024 res on med settings. I dont have aa or af on. Vsync is off.
Editing the ini files in the t:v foulders does nothing...
No one has ever been able to help me. :(
Only thing I can think of is to get a new mobo and ram.
Like a ABIT IC7-G and a gig of something like ocz pc4000...
Anyone have any ideas?

Pick yourself up a matched pair of 512 pc3200 sticks and you will see a world of difference.

Here a lil detail what happens when I play.
I get lil freezes that last only milliseconds and shuttering happening alot when I play. Its never smooth :(
If im close to alot of action I freeze for like 2 seconds sometimes.....
I sometimes hear harddrive activity.
I have the ati 4.10 drivers. Sp2. Every update I can get...
All-Star, all I need is more ram and ill be ok?

More ram definatly wouldn't hurt.
Faster ram would definatly sweeten things up.

unless he has some really cheap ram I dont think its that because im using 2700 512.

4.10 drivers aren't very good, I noticed a 15% performance gain in 3dmark05 going back to 8.07 beta drivers. The difference probably won't be as significant ingame though.

Your little freezes are disk access, you're accessing your HD because you don't have enough ram to store all the necessary media, so it's overflowing to the page file. Surely this isnt that difficult to diagnose?

Milliseconds? And how can you see such a stutter if your framerate is ~40? Rendering the frame takes 25ms then...
So a few millisecond "stutter" would just be the fps decreasing by one, no visible difference...

That's definitely what's bottlenecking your system.

I have a Hd activity light and its only on sometimes.
Most of the time my fps just suck ass...

512 isn't enough for T:V apparently 1gig would suit you fine.
