Does anyone know where a detailed tutorial of the TVed is? I need one designed for somebody with little to no mapping experience. Thanks for helping me out.

Arcanox 11-01-2004, 04:55 PM Google UnrealEd tutorials and start there. If you can't figure something out in TVed ask on Tribes Scripting and Modifying otherwise you are on your own. Ashley 11-01-2004, 04:58 PM I started 3 weeks ago with ZERO mapping experiance, I used 3dbuzz.com's Video Tutorials. Go to 3dBuzz.com and sign up for an account, then go to downloads section, Then click on the Unreal Editor tutorials. Start with Basic Level design, BSB Brushes, and move over to Terrain editing. Pay attential to every detail you can soak in. Go back to them every time somthing confuses you while Making a map. The Best advise I can give you is when you start with a "Blank Map" think of it as a Solid Peice of mass, or a lump of clay that you have to hollow out. Edit, on 3d Buzz's website, be sure to Visit and Read the forums regularly, or you will run out of "Karma", you build up Karma by reading around the forums and the site. If you dont you wont be able to download untill you get it back up. I read there forums every day and still have no Karma. So I just made Multible accounts LOL. Hope this helps! Pachacutec 11-01-2004, 05:01 PM Some unrealed tutorials I was looking at from 3dbuzz.net i think, basically highlighted the functionality associated with t:v, they seem really similar... Ashley 11-01-2004, 05:04 PM Some unrealed tutorials I was looking at from 3dbuzz.net i think, basically highlighted the functionality associated with t:v, they seem really similar... Unfortunatly, UnrealED is MUCH, MUCHHH more stable and WAY more Orginized. I truly hope IG continues to patch TvED. crispyambulance 11-01-2004, 05:22 PM Thanks for all your help. I'll get to work now. Ashley 11-01-2004, 05:24 PM Thanks for all your help. I'll get to work now. g/l take your time. Another bit of information is to take everything SLOW with TvED, give it time to Render what it needs to before Changing somthing else, Espeically Terrain. crispyambulance 11-01-2004, 05:30 PM I searched tutorials for unreal on 3dbuzz and came up with nothing. Do I need to be a member to find stuff? Ashley 11-01-2004, 08:05 PM I searched tutorials for unreal on 3dbuzz and came up with nothing. Do I need to be a member to find stuff? yes get an account and you will have a toolbar on the left, hit download and they are in there. crispyambulance 11-01-2004, 08:09 PM OK, I downloaded a vtm, and it just shows a screenshot of what I assume is the unreal ed. Anyway it won't do anything and i'm a bit confused so any help'd be great. crispyambulance 11-01-2004, 10:47 PM I have a new question. I downloaded a recording from t2 off this site and it's a REC file and well what application will play this format? Btw, Ashley how'd you get permabanned? JohnnyX 11-01-2004, 11:23 PM rec is the T2 demo file you can only play it through T2's demo system (inside the game) Pachacutec 11-01-2004, 11:57 PM yeah i have to say i'm not really interested in devoting time just yet to it, sounds like there are issues when all your work will be lost. for the meantime, i'm spending it on 3dsmax tutorials.. Geiss 11-02-2004, 11:21 AM #tvmappers huge group of us ready and (somewhat) willing to help you out. my personal recommendation is to start here: www.planetunreal.com/architectonic/first_level.html its the basics of the world editor, doesnt include much about the teams and such. after you get your primary world set up, talk to |nXa| Cinderkarst in IRC and he'll hook u up with his mini tutorial on getting ur map ready for public testing. i will prolly help contribute to his tutorial as i find things... good ppl to talk to: PR24 Cinderkarst Santa Powdahound TseTse SelfOwnage DarkPiece sometimes myself and prety much anyone else over in #tvmappers will have their own little tricks to help you out. just come by and ask. crispyambulance 11-02-2004, 12:47 PM #tvmappers huge group of us ready and (somewhat) willing to help you out. my personal recommendation is to start here: www.planetunreal.com/architectonic/first_level.html its the basics of the world editor, doesnt include much about the teams and such. after you get your primary world set up, talk to |nXa| Cinderkarst in IRC and he'll hook u up with his mini tutorial on getting ur map ready for public testing. i will prolly help contribute to his tutorial as i find things... good ppl to talk to: PR24 Cinderkarst Santa Powdahound TseTse SelfOwnage DarkPiece sometimes myself and prety much anyone else over in #tvmappers will have their own little tricks to help you out. just come by and ask. Thanks man.
