JimBodkins 11-01-2004, 10:55 AM ... well maybe not.
But they are selling T:V in his stores. And I have noticed (in a several day span) that there seemed to be less of them.
Frankly something doesnt seem right - might be - but it seems odd. The numbers people keep posting from gamespy. They just dont seem to jive with what is happening. (The game is picked by several gaming groups and is being sold in many places - including Walmart). The number of people online numerically is about what you would expect from TW and TWL alone. I would guarantee that no one from those two place purchased their copy from Walmart. So, where are the other players?
It occured to me that some of this might be underreporting. Something like what the Bush people are going to do tomorrow with democrats with electronic voting machines that wont report democratic votes.
As I understand this, IG still has a little work to do to fully integrate into the Gamespy system. (It was explained that this was why either tags didnt work or you could only get tags to work IF you used a gamespy account).
What is gamespy reporting. In particular in this case where some people appear to be authenticated with Gamespy and some clearly are not.
It may be that the Gamespy numbers are just inaccurate due to software issues. That may not be true - but at this point, anecdotally, it almost looks that way. I would expect enough people to have bought T:V from Walmart nation wide to account for the few hundred players we see online alone.
Who knows. The IGiots wont give us any real info. :) So there is no real telling. After all, this is their product. We dont have much to do with it ... right?
mouse 11-01-2004, 10:57 AM The numbers are probably less than those being reported.

Hey, how about you eff off. I understand your life really is painful, but why dont you return to it anyway? People dont like you here either. :)
mouse 11-01-2004, 11:02 AM I have a small but growing following. Kool-Aid anyone?
Shoddy 11-01-2004, 11:04 AM IGiots?? Weird post Jim, you drunk on a Monday morning?
I haven't heard many complaints about not being able to find a server in the server list, so that leads me to think that most all of the servers are showing up for most people, which in turn makes me thing the player counts are pretty accurate. I'd have to conclude that there are a lot of people who bought it who aren't playing online (yet?).
[GF]Drakkan 11-01-2004, 11:13 AM who's dead?
JimBodkins 11-01-2004, 11:16 AM No Shoddy, I'm losing respect for the boyz down under.

Sam Walton
Tahnit 11-01-2004, 11:21 AM I think something is up with the gamespy authenticate as well. I dont think they are fully in Gamespy's system yet.
Aveox 11-01-2004, 11:46 AM Single player possibly? I bought Far Cry and Doom 3 for the single player campaign, not for multiplayer. Same thing could apply to T:V: Maybe there are loads of people playing the SP and then don't bother to even look at MP.

Yes, yet another reason why player counts are low...
Nice work man! You figured it out!
mouse 11-01-2004, 12:14 PM Use ASE stats. The player counts are low.

or maybe the games are hidden in a truck somehwhere kinda like the democrats did with the absentee ballots back in 2000 and they are doing again this year since there are missing absentee ballots again.
or maybe the democrats have paid a crackhead off to steal the games like they gave a crack to one to get phony registrations in OH
Thats maybe why the numbers for t:v sales and the onlines stats might not be matching up.
Wow its kinda cool to get you're unwanted political view out in the diguise of talking about video games.

Once I wanted to play with a friend, but we couldn't find a server on both of our lists. Then I realized the bitch didn't patch.
