"When you combine the fantastic single player story with the tried and true gameplay design, you get a title that benefits from years of refinement and iterations while also offering up a completely new experience you haven't seen before."
Cinderkarst 10-31-2004, 11:18 PM It's Paste and Post!
And I helped. :roller:
Calder 10-31-2004, 11:18 PM Yea.
Pretty good, but not that large of a feat :)
IGN does like T:V though...

YAY!
FishStix 10-31-2004, 11:20 PM Heheh, the more recognition the better.
IGN and Gamespot love the game, I'm still baffled as to why the player count it so damn low..
JimBodkins 10-31-2004, 11:38 PM Its a new game with issues involving the network, GUID, GameSpy accounts, team tags etc. I wonder how accurate those numbers really are. It would be a joke if they werent accurate.

No native Linux support, no anti-cheat support, crappy netcode, terrible spammy gameplay.
|CO|Kapeket!! 10-31-2004, 11:45 PM Props.

Even if that was all true (no sir, it is not) newbies wouldn't know that.
Origami 11-01-2004, 12:00 AM er, they didn't set back the tw timeclock thingy yet.
Gnome 11-01-2004, 12:29 AM neato

That's the plan. Once the 'newbies' plunk $50 for the game, IG/VU already won. They're probably screamin' "GOTCHA BIITCH!"

We all think in terms of the MP. I think a lot of these reviewers are taking into account the good about the added SP of the game. Yes we all know there are issues with the MP that need to be resolved, but at least the SP is getting good reviews and giving Tribes exposure it may have never had before.
Ace07 11-01-2004, 01:02 AM In your face naysayers. I think this is some nice positive publicity.
I believe the player numbers can be attributed to the fact that every awesome game under the sun is coming out during Q4 2004. I hope it will pick up after people get bored of everything else. ;)
Piata 11-01-2004, 09:31 AM No native Linux support, no anti-cheat support, crappy netcode, terrible spammy gameplay.
1. There's plenty of empty servers. Linux support isn't an issue right now.
2. Cheating is an issue but I don't think "anti-cheat support" would do a lot. I'd place the emphasis on giving admins the ability to ban GUIDs.
3. Netcode sucks. Congrats you were right about something for once.
4. What spammy gameplay? Almost all weapons in tribes are prediction based, not "spammy".
5. You should be banned for being a whiney asshat.
mouse 11-01-2004, 09:34 AM Windows servers are horrible. That's why so many servers are empty.
