Is there an easy way to make rovers last until they are destroyed?

hide them better?

I think the ground vehicles are low on health though, it's retarded that one or two people on foot can blow up a tank or rover by themselves and fairly quickly

He said "till they are destroyed".. All vehicles have an "Abandonment Timer" where after a certain period of no driver,

It'd be even more retarded if one or two vehicles dominated the whole game and made it suck. There was a game like that but I forgot the name of it.

It will come to me, just hang on.

I suggested before that when the Abbandon times expires for ANY vehicle it should do a check to see if there are any players within a fixed range of it. If so, reset the timer, else despawn it.

Simple fix really, but one that could help out with alot of issues I've seen with despawning vehicles.

Does spawning in the rover reset its timer?

true, but I didn't say make them so much stronger they are dominating... but I dunno the whole vehicle system isn't really planned for for T:V, there's none for transport or a need for transport which is a major component of having vehicles, there's no anti vehicle turrets or defense, the levels aren't really made for them even... i'd like to see a more useful system, like some tribes 1 type transports, maybe some tribes 2 type offensive vehicles as long as they are balanced, or hell just steal planetside's vehicles :D how much fun would it be to load a galaxy and do hotdrops :D

I don't think so... I've spawned at a rover, killed a couple people that had found it, then went to move it and *poof* it vanished.

ANother short stroke that could help to alleviate the agravation of de-spawning vehicles would be to make them re-spawn faster if they despawn rather than are destroyed.

Yeah,, I've been complaining about the rover disappearing for a little while now. It's especially annoying on smaller games. If I'm playing a 3v3 game, I will often drive a rover over, suit up, and mess around at the enemy base. After a couple minutes of dueling and such, I'll try to respawn at the rover I placed only to find that it's already gone because there was nobody to sit in the stupid thing in a 3v3 game.

Spawning resets the timer. Take my word for it, I've made a Rover last a full 30 minute game before by simply hiding it well (http://thrik.dodnetwork.com/b3ta/rover.jpg) and ensuring that it's used constantly. :)

that still doesn't help a thing in low player count games.

Never been a problem for me. Just tell your two comerades to use it, and it should last long enough. If they refuse, that probably implies that it's in a sucky location, and thus should vanish so that it can be put somewhere more useful to your team, and not just you.

It just wouldn't do any harm to make it last until it is destroyed. If someone puts it in a bad location go move it.
