Highlands Bases SUCK ASS

Thats one of the coolest maps terrain-wise, but the bases are lame. Why did they ruin such a potentially great map with near-uncapturable flags and bases that completely slow the game down. Whenever I play that map one of three things happens: its either a stale mate, one team gets a cap then goes all defense, or one team is just crushing the other and the score ends up being 18-0. They also should have placed the bases much further apart so HO could actually move around without getting spanked the second they step foot outside their base.

It's so easy to rape. I think they consider it "balanced", because of the over-protected flag stands.

The bases are unbalanced for capping. It's much easier to cap as BE than as Imperial.

lob a few mortars in there and it stops being so protected to a fast incoming capper. I don't mind the map.

I'm just getting really fed up with the highspeed capper monkeys that bitch and moan at anything that they can't solo cap.

I enjoy the hell outta Highlands 'cause it's about the only map where you perty much have to have your shaz together as a team to cap.

They are horrible. The only way to cap is to go thru the to. Even if you make it through the side holes the ground is really bumpy, and slows you the eff down. I don't really understand what they were thinking when they made the flag stand. Oh well, I'd really like to see this fixed. I love the terrain of Highlands, so I think it could be really fun.

On a side note the terrain really reminds me of SH, and anyopne notice the blatent SH reference? There are actual stonehenges in the center..

Yup. And I like T:V a lot.
What I also like is a challange and the feeling I get when I know it's taken a team effort to pull something off.

I mean seriously... there is more than one type of player out there and the twitch-kiddies have been catored to enough.

If they can't deal with a single logical base that takes some effort to crack... well... too bad for them. <-- me being really polite ;)

Low scores should be because of a team effort not because of the map design. The front to back is pretty cool on that map. They should have widen the hole or had a roof just over the flag stand. Not the hallway crap. But its still fun.

Over protected to me would be a flag stand, I dunno, maybe in a protected area, not it a flyby position. (ie require the capper to have help, not just speed)

This is not Recalescence or Northern Lights. There will be plenty of uniformity down the road when all that's left is spawn/LT and open maps. For now, enjoy the variety.

Geez mates. It's called HO ... Heavy Offense ... learn to use it. Hard to imagine that it might take an ounce of team coordination to get a flag, instead of simply the uber speeds that any grandmother can attain, eh?

I like Highlands. I realize Cappers have a small challenge facing them, that's why I do my role as HO and help them out. Then it's all good.

theres a large difference between needing team coordination to clear flag stand and having to walk through the flag stand because practically 0 routes work

The base was fine in the bit of competition i've played on it. Dunno about pubs. Dun care about pubs either.

I think its fine. Every flag can't be open from all angles. Variety is nice.

At least you can zoom in and out from 3 directions. Long as HO keep area clear of mines its all good.
