this is not a joke, i'm dead serious. the vision is a fast-paced, t1 team rabbit-type level of intensity crossed with the dm frenzy and elegance of unreal 1.
depending on how doable this is, i'm gonna make it.
the emphasis will be on mobility as well as dueling, with potentially a VIP system to encourage players remaining alive on both teams.
first release will be TEAM DEATHMATCH.
among the features
- grapple can kill, details will follow later
- new grapple model, grapple line lights up as electricity.
- 1 extra weapon slot
- unlimited grapple ammo
- shocklance type behavior for knife
- extra arcade sounds, possibly importing unreal "HEADSHOT" type sounds
- ramped up chaingun power/alternate fire and better sounds
- disc exploision variance/alternate fire
- disabled base announcer
- alternate fires for nearly every weapon, (flamethrower anyone?).
- improved sounds for nearly everything.
- de-scaling of model size so maps will seem huge, (would require new maps, so potentially issues there)
- point system that encourages mobility and chasing AND style
will be looking for modelers, coders, and sound designers later, for now, prepare yourselves.
