Heightmap format? Maybe different issue...

Hey folks. I've got a little problem here I would sure appresiate a little help with!

Every time I import a hight map into T:ved it all seems to be compressed into the very bottom of the map with almost no dimention at all. I'm not sure if I'm using the wrong format (.bmp) or if there needs to be anything special in the heightmap.

I've even tried modifying existing terains with these hightmaps. They seem to load fine, but produce the same results. Quite a pain in the arse!

The height maps I'm using are coming from both World Engine and Painter (no, not paint!).

Any tips you can provide would be seriously apressiated!

someone just post a tutorial on heightmaps...they dont work for me well either...oh make sure the pixels are 256 or 512...that one from the 5150 site has the wrong sizes...make sure also that the .bmp is in rgb8a format or r8 i think...had many problems last night with it and well i got the import in but no idea how to load this into map after converting it to G16. strange thing too my preset maps are all white...any idea?
