Not to one-up you... but Nvidia has tools for making bumpmaps. I can't link while at work, but it's in the title of the #skinning channel. I can vouch for it's functionability.

No, it's not that we can't make bump maps, it's that we can't export them out of the editor to edit them.

I think you'll have a lot of trouble just editing the normal maps since they use crazy color instead of just grayscale. The best thing we could ask for would be grayscale versions of all the normal maps, before they get converted with the nvidia tool.

Also, looking around, I don't think this is possible in the Unreal Engine, but is it possible to make a Cube Map that will work like a mirror?.......

All correct, No you can't make a mirror reflection, Vengeance does not have real-time reflections, just cube map based ones. You could use one of the many cube maps from the water package to give a model a more realistic looking reflection...

I'd need more info on this.. do you have the DXT texture assigned assigned to the model in the material editor and texture display turned on?

Interesting. Right now I'm using the one I mentioned earlier (I saw it on the Energy Blade's shader when I was poking around), but this sounds cool.

Strez, it's great to see you doing this, I've got a map question on my mind, the map I made, located here : http://www.zoohypothesis.com/tribes/tv/Dropzone_Wasted.zip has one issue in it and I've seen the issue from other maps too. after everything is done and you go to build the map (Generate Map Image) , the progress bar doesnt move and then it vanishes. then I go ingame and it's always the southmost area of the map, only a small maybe 1/ 6th percent of the map is garbled in the command screen. Is the" Generate Map Image " function in TVed broken?

EDIT: Strez, I'll also ask this one other thing, in the map I made, the bases are more than a mile above the terrain, maybe 2 or 3, if you fall from the bases and hit the terain, if you do die (about a 3% success rate from falling) you tend to go right through the terrain and even through the boundary box, then the player polygons get kinda distorted, in other cases you end up halfway up your chest in the terrain (and still dead). Even in other cases I've noticed if you hit just about anything hard enough, the player with die and go through it sometimes, do you know what this is from?

no, strez is prolly just working on his own beer count image series of himself, might have blacked out after 5 cases though, and hasnt sobered up yet...

He said he'd have to talk to the programmers to get an answer. No answer was ever given however. If it is possible it will probably have to be done through weapons.ini or something with a call to the new skin location in the weapon class.

edit: reread page 2 and I think he actually did answer. If he did, the answer is no without mutators or mods.

AFAIK this would have to be a mutator too. You would have to ask KP this question, he knows all the in's and out's of what is possible with the UGM System

Hey. What program did you use to make the wall textures. Like say the Imperial stone with the dirt on the bottom. I like the scratches. How did you make the noise? Its a great foundation texture for a base.
