This isn't a Tribes Vengeance specific problem. Whenever a new game comes out there are always a ton of people in the forums complaining about the poor performance of their uber rigs. 99% of the time the poor performance is due to poorly configured rigs or too much crap running in the backround. My 9800pro performs great for a year old card, and my buddy gets a pretty consistant 80fps with his 6800GT, which means that it is definitely not a universal problem that T:V has with these pieces of hardware.

Reformat, reinstall windows, and update all your drivers. Learn a little bit about your BIOS and optimize it. Try out different settings in your BIOS, that's how I learned. Some settings like AGP Aperture Size work well set to high values for some games, but work better set to low values for others. Make sure your RAM is configured as duel channel. Sometimes one little setting within your BIOS can mean the difference of 10fps.

unless you're going to post a screenshot like mine, stfu.

Obviously not if you can't get T:V to perform as well as other people with comparable rigs. Ass.

And earlier you were comparing T:V's performance to UT2K4's. UT2K4 has NO pixel shading 2.0 effects, making it much less graphically intensive.

Here ya go Knightmare. I see you tried to find the scene that pushes the most polys for your experiment :D

Second link shows why the system is crying at that spot. The arrow at the top is pointing to 85746. Got blurred with jpeg compression. Thats a lot of triangles.

i dont understand your "leet" systems not playing it right..

i am using a 2500 non OC
a 5900 Flashed to 5950
1 gig kingston hyperx

and run consistant 80 fps at 1024x768 with ultra

here is a tip for you people

Games use Video Ram, Computer Ram, and Virtual Ram

Make sure you have enough harddrive space 20% for it to use enough Virtual Ram..

I picked that spot to emphasize my point about this game and I didnt have to look long because on everymap the samething happens.

All of these people saying the game runs "fine" on their gf2 and 500mhz without really going into detail is probably why the game was release the way it was.

With a gig of RAM you should be using little to no virtual memory. In the rare instance that I notice a game spooling off my harddrive, I usually disable virtual memory all together.

Open up FarCry in Dev mode look for a scene pushing well over 100k polys and you will find your system is gonna give you similar numbers. Open UT2k4 or any other game that is pushing well over 100k polys and its the same thing.

Its not magic. You can't get more complex scenes for free. Make a 180 degree turn and you will have 95 fps. Look to the left or right and your fps will be much higher. Strange how your comp is supposedly always like that but you chose the most intensive map to show it.

All this proves is your computer is functioning properly and you expect your average hardware to give you top of the line performance. Not gonna happen.

and just what, like I said on the first page you need atleast a 3ghz cpu. That entire map kills my fps.

let's try to avoid just flaming over who it works for and who it doesn't... or whether the user can fix it themselves or not...

it's pretty much a crap shoot with games on modern videocards unfortunately... sometimes everything is fine for you, other times for reasons known only to the heavans you will have bizarre performance problems until you do a tweak, or the card maker releases a driver with a "fix", or the developer patches the game... you can't say what it is right off the bat the only thing you can do is troubleshoot on your end which sometimes fixes it, sometimes doesn't

Actually, I'll post a screenshot taken from the same exact spot as you took yours with my framecounter up just to show you what an ass you are:

as of now this game is too buggy. I myself and a few of my freinds agree that this game wasnt ready for relese. Give it 6 months of patchs to fix all the bugs and problems. The biggest problem i see is the load times

1.not the spot
2. you have 3ghz, thanks for proving my point :)

This is another issue not everyone is experiencing O_o, it's only about 10 seconds a level for me, fairly quick by this year's fps standards
