there was a point made in another forum about teams. Having the teams RANDOMLY switch after each map is a horrible idea. This actually only works if EVERYONE in the server is a vet and is of equal skill. Right now, the teams could be fine one map and then just completely unbalanced the next, like vets vs. newbs. Please make it so that the teams stay the same throughtout each map, people will change accordingly to even them out. right now its just frustrating, WE WANT TO GO BACK TO WHAT TRIBES 1 DID! thank you for listening, now gimme your thoughts please.........

Not having random teams is worse.
Would you rather...
1) Have random teams and run the risk of letting chance decide whether the teams will be stacked or not
or
2) Have the teams stay the same time after time and trust players to balance the skill out themselves to try and keep the games interesting
Have you never seen chumps switch to the winning side and stay there? Have you never seen games where the scores are 10-20 to 0 and yet the losing team is STILL getting base raped? Or how about when your team obviously has no offense, so in order to make up for it the other team decides to be cool and not rape and instead play defense instead instantly devouring anyone who dares to go offense....yes that helps a lot.
Random teams ensure that if one team is stack, it is most likely only temporary and will be over by end of map. I would rather deal with chance handing me a loss instead of having to put up with players who just don't care enough about pubbing that just do whatever is important to them to have fun.

Everyone switches teams after the map loads anyways, so it doesnt matter. I was on a server yesterday that was 11-5 twice. Between the n00bs/tkers and lack of on server admins, nothing we can do.

Best thing is to reshuffle teams based on indv. point or caps or the like - then at least you get psuedo balanced games. Trusting players...this doesn't work well unless you have an active admin.

listen, i believe its in battlefield that you're only allowed to switch teams once or something, but my point is that the teams staying the same worked for t1 and t2, so just try it in this.

Not being able to switch if that would make the number of player per team unequal would help too (would get rid of the those who switch en masse just because their team is losing). Some T1 and T2 mods did team balancing - and it helped.

The current system works well for your average pub. Quality servers will have admin mods running that have several options to make the teams balanced anyway.

I made a server script in T2 that did this. We used it on our server for a while and it helped a lot IMO.

Enemy Territory had XP shuffle. This was very helpful in resetting the teams If they were unbalanced. Something similar would be nice.

theres no way to account for the balance of vets to newbs right now.
people are ocming from different games with different skills. trust me when i say it will all balance out very soon.
my bro who is a cs/dod former, was going medium rape skiing with a good route in no time, (2 weeks)
just give ppl time and be patient, explain shazbot to newbs, pretty soon most playing fields will be level.

Don't shuffle... SORT!
I would suggest that only a top few players be shuffled too. Maybe have it configurable by the admin.

Yep, that's what my script did. I no one else writes one for T:V, I'll do it. :p
