when is t:v MP demo going offlinej00d 10-11-2004, 10:28 AM i see more people playing demo than the retail, when is the demo going offline crouton 10-11-2004, 10:29 AM Demo won't go offline, it's there to get people to buy the retail. Our demo server stays packed while the retail languishes in the shadows... quite sad really. SelfOwnage 10-11-2004, 10:30 AM It doesn't go offline, its a demo that will be there for a loonnngg while. Amadeus 10-11-2004, 10:34 AM Hopefully not before retail goes offline (read: NEVAH!!!) ParoxysM 10-11-2004, 10:43 AM Ill continue to play Demo until more people purchase the retail... Falhawk 10-11-2004, 10:46 AM Ill continue to play Demo until more people purchase the retail... but if everyone does this... nevermind. Starwind 10-11-2004, 11:06 AM they should patch the demo to only include 1 map. That will help with Retail sales. jotun 10-11-2004, 11:11 AM isn't T1 demo still active? Discourse 10-11-2004, 11:12 AM they should patch the demo to only include 1 map. That will help with Retail sales. It won't help until the game is actually released to the rest of the world. [57th][cneal] 10-11-2004, 11:15 AM I stated before that the demo needs to be time limited. If you aren't planning on purchasing the game then you shouldn't be able to play period. Pachacutec 10-11-2004, 11:17 AM they should keep it up, it only makes sense. people will make the transition if they like the game no worries. t1 demo kept feeding t1 for years... Starwind 10-11-2004, 11:20 AM well after its released to the world it should be limited to one map. Col. Mustard 10-11-2004, 11:25 AM Our demo server stays packed while the retail languishes in the shadows... quite sad really. Same. It's sad. After a couple days of having 3 retail servers empty all the time, I switched one back to demo. Was full in an hour, and it's full every day. People whining about no linux servers killing the community are full of it. There's tons of servers out there right now, and they're all empty. Spend official resources improving/fixing the game so that more people will try the game and strengthen the community. Release all the tools (and not broken tools like the current incarnation of editors, ucc.exe, and server admin stuff) so the community can improve game through maps, scripts, or little fixes. Spending resources on linux, while it would be nice for some clans/hosts, does nothing for game longevity. crouton 10-11-2004, 11:47 AM People whining about no linux servers killing the community are full of it. There's tons of servers out there right now, and they're all empty. Good point. Up to retail release, not having linux servers was a big deal. Now, we have servers up but nobody to play on them. I try and hop on our server to generate some interest, but so far I've only seen maybe 15 servers with any action at all. And the demo keeps plugging away. dudeman 10-11-2004, 11:50 AM acting desperate never helps anything... if they pulled the demo to try and force sales it would just give people a WORSE impression. Buk Naked 10-11-2004, 11:53 AM isn't T1 demo still active? If it was, I'd still be playing. The master server for it was shut down a couple of years ago. Up until then, there was still a pretty good demo community, that included some small leagues. slogg 10-11-2004, 11:59 AM isn't T1 demo still active? I believe they shut it down shortly before T2's release j00d 10-11-2004, 12:04 PM OUF, what sort of hosting arrangement do you have | ||
