Things I'm looking forward to being fixed, or just wish would happen and probably won't. Some have already been mentioned as being worked on

1.) Cycle zoom levels while not zoomed in

2.) Ability to 'carve' while skiing

3.) Ability to select a permanent spawn point, and then reset as necessary. Or at the VERY LEAST, if there is only one spawn on a map, do not ask for your respawn choice, just spawn. Add a check to see if rover is up maybe, or have an option in settings to ignore rover as spawn point.

4.) Loadout selection before entering inventory, ala T2. OR at least momentary 'lock on' so that you can't be pushed out by others. effing irritating on maps like winterlake at map start.

5.) Fix voting system. Can only get better from here :X

6.) Grappler line more visible + detachable anchor point by disc/explosion/whatever

7.) Rebalance vehicles. Weaker weapons, faster movement. More fun to use while less impacting on gameplay.

8.) Increase reflection radius of buckler. If you're going to nerf its offensive power, you might as well inrease its defensive strengths.

9.) Disc jump gives more horizontal momentum and less vertical boost

10.) Linux support! Oh yeah, and global ban Techlogic from all servers. omg what a homo ;D

Please make all of this a Tribes Christmas miracle :deal:

Edit: Here's some additional items I picked through from the thread that I thought looked fairly useful / benign over all. Some I haven't experienced firsthand and can't really say what the issue is, such as custom reticle and text movement issues

Audio Issues
1.) Map Utopia - example "blood eagle terrority contested....imperials captured a terrority" ad nauseum. Implement a system where voice overs don't conflict
2.) Sound issues with Audigy 2 (already logged)
3.) Different hit sounds for friend/foe. Hitting your teammate or equipment should not sound same as hitting enemy or enemy equipment
4.) More noticeable audio indicator when taking damage
5.) Options to disable voices / certain voices
6.) Falls under item 1, but make flag grab indicators not conflict/overlay. One team grabbing flag can be 'camouflaged' by grab from other team

Gameplay Issues
1.) Bonus scoring system - allow for bonus points for defending flag within radius, not just after grab. Personally, I've also noticed that I receive bonus flag d points when killing people that are nowhere near my flag or theirs. Usually occurs after I've killed a number of cappers without dying it seems
2.) Autobalance system - remove randomization as default autobalancing, allow teams to balance themselves unless there is numerical discrepancy
3.) Color code or otherwise differentiate turrent/mine/repair/inventory dispensors so they can be easily identified from a distance
4.) "Buddy" support (reference: battlefield series) to find friends while in servers
5.) Keep custom reticle when zooming in

Miscellaneous
1.) Ways to move and format text notifications

Good List. The main things that bug me in multiplayer is:

1. Not being able to set the inventory before the station
2. No "quick load" (last selected inventory loadout if you don't select the inventory menu) like in Tribes 2
3. Not saving previous spawn point selection information.

There is some other tweaking like you mentioned, but these are the big ones in my opinion.

The only other thing I can think of which they may or may not have control over is the graphics performance. Even with my new GeForce 6800GT I still have frame lag (drops to about 10fps if not lower in heavy firefights) in the single player maps at 1280x1024 with the highest video quality. Doom 3 plays great at the same levels (or higher). I haven't had too much of a chance to tweak video settings yet though, so there may still be hope.

Good list. I especially would like 3, 4, 5, and 9 implimented. I have to add a couple of things to the list though.

11. Add automated kicking/banning for a server defined negative score and a server defined ratio of team damage to score. That would take care of bleeders and TK'ers.

12. Change the way T:V autobalances servers. I think one of the reasons that games are often unbalanced is because the server randomizes the teams at the end of each map. I hate it when there is one great map with really balanced teams and game play, and then the next map is a blow out. I used to love getting to know the people I was playing with and their typical roles. After a couple of maps you could get some real teamwork going.

buckler and grappler: can do
nade and laser: can do
mortar and chain: can do

You just gotta pick the right weapons for the job you want to do. I've never found 3 weapons to be few.

the angle/speed at which you shoot the disk is what determines the trajectory you take... the devs shouldn't have to "fix" everything for you... disk jump is fine.

the zoom range toggle while not zoomed is sorely needed though...

rifle also needs a bit more range as well...

Demo system is a bit rough around the edges still, doesn't show when the player zoomed, sounds don't always translate into the demo, and sometimes you need to alt-tab to exit the demo by ending the program in task manager...

I'd rather just see the grappler have limited ammo (3-5) and make it standard issue for everyone. Something so it doesnt change the tribes gameplay too much but allows the nice moves that the grappler brings to the game. I was really looking forward to some fun sking/chasing in T:V but when the cappers just swing around buildings like tarzan for 2-3 minutes at a time (or catapult themselfs 1/2 the map away to avoid chasers) it just becomes frustrating (and horrible for pubs since you cant Osnipe on most good servers) especially with a few good escorts. Its so unbalanced as a weapon right now its silly. Tribes is supposed to be about sking not swinging :p

For a grappler fix, I was thinking increase the reload time. It would make sense that a gapple gun couldn't release and fire again that quickly, plus it would cut down on the rediculous grapple swing for 4 minutes with the flag crap. I think you could still get a good use out of it, just not quite what we have now. Any beta testers comment on if the reload time was ever different?

13.) Fix sound with Audigy 2 cards (defect has been logged)
14.) Fix sniper rifle beam not firing sometimes when zoomed in.
15.) Fix the sniper rifle not firing in the middle of the reticle.
16.) NOREG MA's!! It happens way too often and is annoying as hell.
16.) Performance tweaks/enhancements across the board!

I don't think each armor should get one more weapon, but I agree it would be nice for the Heavy to have one more weapon loadout.

3-5 ammo for grappler would be nice.

I agree about the buckler... I like the weapon, but it just doesn't deflect enough frontal damage.
