Fix the almost completely broken bonus scoring system. I'm not just talking about the non reg ma's.
I'm talking about killling a potential cappers 2 feet form your flag being inconsistently awarded a bonus point for defending your flag once in a while but most of the time not getting a bonus point. Why not just have a radious around the flag and if any enemy gets killed within that radius award a point for defending your flag.
I haven't noticed that happening. But it I do know that, if you are damaging a capper, then someone else comes in and steals your kill, he gets the credit for the kill. However, when you repair a gen, or inv and you have the majority of the repair precentage, but your repair pack runs out and someone continues to repair it, you get the credit for the repair, and they don't. At least, the game doesn't tell you they don't.

Another bonus should be defending your flag carrier when you kill someone within a certain radius of your flag carrier.
I have seen that happen, but I haven't noticed if it is consistant. I think you have to be pretty close to your capper or in his general vacinity.

Another bug is when you are protecting your flag carrier and you get a bonus for "killing an enemy flag defender." That's not right.
Yeah, it should probably say "Killing an emeny flag attacker." That would make more sense.

Also if an enemy player is within a certain radius of his own flag, you should get a point for killing him.You get and Offense point for that. Since you are not killing him while defending your flag carrier or taking out an actual flag carrier.

Keep the capturing announcement with a pause before it (say a pause of 20% of the time needed to capture befoer the annoucement) and put a limit on the contested, can only be said every 30 secs or so.

So true, I can't believe I forgot about the global voice events. Far too many of them for every situation, including "Blah blah is repairing their gens, sensor under attack, gens are up".

buckler and grappler: can do
nade and laser: can do
mortar and chain: can do

You just gotta pick the right weapons for the job you want to do. I've never found 3 weapons to be few.

well, when i'm spending my time dueling around in spiridian in medium, it sure as hell sucks when i cant grapple, and chain and disc and buckler :(

i want to feel like i have options. 1 more slot is NOT alot to ask.

Sorry, but I'm 23 with a college degree, working as a web developer in VA. And yes, I would effing own you at any game at any time. Kinda funny that you "call me out" for saying I would own you, then talk your own shazbot.
Ok, I can respect your age and your credentials. And if you are wondering, and I am 30, with a college degree as well. I've played Online games since i was 13 years old, so I think you are a little off base for saying you would own me at any game. We can agree to just disagree here.

I've put in at least 10-30 hours every week since it was released in open beta on Fileplanet, depending on my workload. Competitive scrims, pubbing, practice, ski routes by myself, etc etc.

So yeah, I've put in the time before making my suggestions. If I've missed something, then I would certainly own up to it.

And no, It's not that I haven't figured out how to do my own inventory loadouts. I simply don't enjoy having to press one key, and then another while remaining on the pad. I know you're so elite that this system is obviously perfect and I should shut up :nag:, but you have to admit that T2's system, combined with an "instant" walkover loadout would be ideal. It's not just opinion, it is factual.

I liked T1's and T2's inventory systems they were great. I also liked the speed chat as well. I never quite understood why they changed it, but it worked well. Alot of people complained over this, including myself. I think my point was that you can manage your Inventory Systems in your profile as well as get to them just as easily. I didn't necessarily say I like them, but they are functional at the very least. I do like being able to walk up to a Inv. and pressing the Use key and having my equipment and health replenished. I also like the idea, that with two keys I can stock any armor without actually having to open the Inventory station. So if you set up all your loadouts prior to playing for every possible combination. You can still get to them rather quickly. I hated using my Number pad in T1 an T2. Because I didn't always remember what loadout was what. I like being able to see the names of my loadouts too.

Look, I think this whole thing was blown out of proportion. Like I said it is nothing personal. I will give you all prompts that you deserve for making your suggestions. I am sorry if I offended you with my short remarks. Sometimes I get a little carried away. I think from my point of view, that this community have a tendancy to ride a negativity wave when because T:V is not like T1 or T2. We need the veterens in the community to put in time and play T:V to get it off the ground and to help build interest in keeping this community thriving. We all love and feel very passionate about the Tribes Franchise. But it is also up to us to keep it alive.

Also uhm, asking him to point out "how to fix" the problems he noted is a little silly. Do you want him to point out the code that needs changing, or something?

I think you might have misunderstood what I was trying to express. With a suggestion, what I meant by offering a solution, was how they would envision the correct way it should work. Hell, I don't even know the code, but I do know that I have a general idea of how I think something should work better. It's the idea that should be expressed along with the suggestion. That is all I was trying to say. This is not to say that I don't agree will all of his points, just some of them.

1) One more slot for the heavy armor.

2) Color code or otherwise differentiate the turret, mine, repair and inventory dispensers so that they are readily identifiable from a moderate distance.

3) Streamline the inventory system. [ Of all the things I swear at, this is the main one.]

4) Moderate lock on when rocket pod times to accquire target.

5) Slight increase in the energy ratio between jetting and burner use.

See, I always loved using the number pad. I rarely forgot what was in my loadouts (at least on the first 9), and if I did I could always hit the inventory key to check. I don't like T:V's system because occasionally I do hit the wrong quick key, or you get knocked out of the inv before you load up by someone's careless walking/jetting.

I don't take any offense, but I would still own you ;P The reason I make these suggestions is because I'm still very interested in the game and hope it has a long and healthy life. I just want it to have the best start it can, and the issues I listed are not just my own personal wants (although they are), but those of many of my friends and interested players. I refrained from listing 5-6 other issues that are purely preference only because I wanted to list what I felt were core issues.

I don't really understand how I could have been much clearer. The only thing I did not offer explanation for was the voting issue, and that's because I'm not entirely sure what I want.... just that it could be much better.

Not if you look at it from the math side. With 3 slots and 8 weapons to choose from, you have 8*7*6 / (3*2*1) = 56 different loadout options (of course not all of them would be useful). With 4 slots, you'd have 8*7*6*5 / (4*3*2*1) = 70 options, only 14 more.

The thing is, that fourth weapon slot can give you a great advantage. If you have a chain/disc/grappler loadout, that buckler can make the difference between victory or death. 4 weapons would make people far too versatile and allow for 'universal' loadouts (such as disc/chain/nade in T1).

4 weapon slots on light and med are a bit much. But 1 more on the heavy would be nice .... :)

Yeah, I miss being sucked into the Inventory, and staying there until you select your loadout. Maybe that is what they need to do to improve the load out system. is make it suck you into the Inventory, and not eject you when you get hit by other players, until after you made your selection.

I just often think that some people post stuff without actually playing the game first or playing it for a short time, and not giving themselves enough time to acclamate themselves to the T:V.

4.) Loadout selection before entering inventory, ala T2. OR at least momentary 'lock on' so that you can't be pushed out by others. effing irritating on maps like winterlake at map start.

Yes please.
