13.) Fix sound with Audigy 2 cards (defect has been logged)
14.) Fix sniper rifle beam not firing sometimes when zoomed in.
15.) Fix the sniper rifle not firing in the middle of the reticle.
16.) NOREG MA's!! It happens way too often and is annoying as hell.
16.) Performance tweaks/enhancements across the board!

I don't think each armor should get one more weapon, but I agree it would be nice for the Heavy to have one more weapon loadout.

3-5 ammo for grappler would be nice.

I agree about the buckler... I like the weapon, but it just doesn't deflect enough frontal damage.
NO! leave the damn grappler alone. It's perfect how it is now. 3-5 is exaggeration(sp). nice thread

4.) Loadout selection before entering inventory, ala T2. OR at least momentary 'lock on' so that you can't be pushed out by others. effing irritating on maps like winterlake at map start.

You can manage your loadouts in your user profile, and since you can customize and recall them ingame, that is no longer necessary. You just have to figure out how to do it.

5.) Fix voting system. Can only get better from here :X

Can't you press F4, when someone proposes a vote and then vote?

6.) Grappler line more visible + detachable anchor point by disc/explosion/whatever

That is a personal preference, and you can probably do that yourself if you know how to.

7.) Rebalance vehicles. Weaker weapons, faster movement. More fun to use while less impacting on gameplay.

Again, personal preference, and a lack of skill on your part. Vehicles are fine.

8.) Increase reflection radius of buckler. If you're going to nerf its offensive power, you might as well inrease its defensive strengths.

I don't know what game you are playing, but as a capper, when there is someone competant on the flag with the buckler, I still get knocked back pretty good.

9.) Disc jump gives more horizontal momentum and less vertical boost

Learn to diskjump. Turn right or left and DJ. Don't point down and DJ.

10.) Linux support! Oh yeah, and global ban Techlogic from all servers. omg what a homo ;D

Well, that wouldn't be bad. But fix the existing standalone server first.

The game has been out 5 days. Give it a chance, and quit being so critical of it. You need to play it and get used to it. 3-6 hours of GP is not enough. I think I have put in probably 150+ hours into the game (since Beta3). You get used to the changes. Just play and quit complaining.

Well, I am all glad that Silk has been around since T1, but he has expressed himself that he is having a problem Disk Jumping in Tribes:Vengeance. To me that is a skill thing. And you if haven't played enough to figure out that disk jumping to the left or right instead of straight down increases your horizontal thrust (Unlike what happens in T1 and T2 classic) then you obviously have a "Lack of Skill" issue (in terms of T:V).

Or maby just maby people expected something that they've been using for years upon years of gameplay to work the same and its a pain to adjust something that's second nature to you because you've done it for so long. I mean i know you have a whole 150 hours of top notch gameplay in so you must be right.

It's not that I can't figure out how disc jumping works. Yeah, at first I didn't realize what the problem was (in beta/demo), but I quickly figured it out myself and had it confirmed by teammates.

I have to say I don't like the way it works, and would prefer it to work similar to T1 / T2.

So maybe it doesn't need fixing per se, but an adjustment.

Yeah, 150 to 151 or so hours, but who's counting eh? ;) I don't mean to sound like a snob or an ass (although I look like an ass most of the time), but the game does take alot of getting used to, and it will require you to relearn some of the old habbits that you have learned. Try this, play T:V for two weaks straight. Don't even touch T1 and/or T2. After two weeks, play T1 or T2 and you will see that even in T1 or T2, you are going to have to relearn some things. You just have to play it for a while to get used to, and eventually things will become second nature again.

Just play and quit complaining.

I'm not going to respond to the rest of your post, since all it's just worthless flamebait. Suffice to say, I would effing own you any day of the week, no matter what game it was.

As for the 'complaining' part, there is a line between "constructive criticism and suggestions" and "complaints"

If I came in here saying "OMFG YOU 'TARDED PIECES OF shazbot RUINED MY INVO STATIONS I effING HATE YOU", that would be complaining and I would expect to have my ass torched.

What I did was give a positive and clear outline of suggestions on what I think needs fixing. You have no basis for your rude attitude, and I don't know what your problem is. eff off.

Im going to have to say that the 10 listed things are about dead on to what I would have put.

Also, a fix for the mortar issue. On Isle especially with the gens (and turrets on any map) they dont seem to do any damage to them, if they dont hit the right spot. It takes 3 mortars sometimes to destroy a turret, when shot right at them. Thats just silly. :/

Keep the capturing announcement with a pause before it (say a pause of 20% of the time needed to capture befoer the annoucement) and put a limit on the contested, can only be said every 30 secs or so.

Only other things i'd add to the list are:

1. Different hit sounds for friend/foe
2. make it more noticable when you're taking damage

Ok... How old are you? 12? Yeah, I am sure you will own me in any game with your l33t hax. I would beat you down like a dog with his tail between his legs begging for mother's milk. STFU with that shazbot Biatch. }-P

Most of your points were personal preferences that don't even effect game play at the very least. I have no problem with you personally, just with what you said... I don't even know you. Perhaps I am wrong, and I misread your statements as complaints instead of constructive citisism. I can admit when I am wrong. But half the things you posted are somewhere in the game already. If you looked you may have found them. Also, you don't say how things could be fix or how you would suggest things to be fixed. Instead, it appears you complain about things being broken. A complaint without a suggestion is only a complaint. Honestly, how much actual play time have you put into the game before posting your suggestions?

Fix the almost completely broken bonus scoring system. I'm not just talking about the non reg ma's.

1. I'm talking about killling a potential cappers 2 feet form your flag being inconsistently awarded a bonus point for defending your flag. Most of the time you don't get a bonus point. Why not just have a radius around the flag and if any enemy gets killed within that radius award a point for defending your flag.

2. Another bonus should be defending your flag carrier when you kill someone within a certain radius of your flag carrier.

3. Another bug is when you are protecting your flag carrier and you get a bonus for "killing an enemy flag defender." That's not right.

4. Also if an enemy player is within a certain radius of his own flag, you should get a point for killing him.

Sorry, but I'm 23 with a college degree, working as a web developer in VA. And yes, I would effing own you at any game at any time. Kinda funny that you "call me out" for saying I would own you, then talk your own shazbot.

Honestly, how much actual play time have you put into the game before posting your suggestions?

I've put in at least 10-30 hours every week since it was released in open beta on Fileplanet, depending on my workload. Competitive scrims, pubbing, practice, ski routes by myself, etc etc.

So yeah, I've put in the time before making my suggestions. If I've missed something, then I would certainly own up to it.

And no, It's not that I haven't figured out how to do my own inventory loadouts. I simply don't enjoy having to press one key, and then another while remaining on the pad. I know you're so elite that this system is obviously perfect and I should shut up :nag:, but you have to admit that T2's system, combined with an "instant" walkover loadout would be ideal. It's not just opinion, it is factual.

I rarely post (but observe on a daily basis!)... but I found the points Silken noted were right on with what I was feeling.

FreshMeat - at the heart of it, arn't all "suggestions" just someone's way of trying to put their "personal preferences" into effect?

Also uhm, asking him to point out "how to fix" the problems he noted is a little silly. Do you want him to point out the code that needs changing, or something?

Anyway, great post Silken.
