It works for now. It's fun for short periods. Look forward to seein' some killer mods, like Classic made for it though.

So far, unlike the previous 2 games, this version seems to have broken my Tribes addiction.. ;(

Nothing can beat the grappler... Though, heavies are really, REALLY heavy.

w00t 1,000th vote

*Edit*
I like the game, but the fps problems need to be addressed, as well as some way the unbalanced/over-powered features.

For example: the grappler shouldn't be a super easy way to avoid people in stand offs because they are whipping around at 250+ up and down hills/buildings super fast. Jetting and energy conservation is what makes Tribes unique.. why take that ALL away with super-newbie grappling?

Bombers need to be removed or toned the eff down. The one-shot kills and huge blast radius on that effer, makes pubs totally suck ass... especially when they just run off and repair it.

Pods ruin the "Tribes" (pub)gameplay imho. I don't like having to duel something that's hovering 200m above my head and spamming rockets. It's got to be one of the biggest effing newbie additions I've seen to the game, besides the bomber.

The burner's "wall of fire" should dissapear a lot faster. It's too easy to just spam some incoming capper, and take a majority of his life off/kill him on the way in.

Laser shouldn't have more powerful shots for headshots. And it definitely needs to be toned down against HOs. Seems like it takes half their health with a full-charge hit.

Disc-jumps need to actually WORK for LD. The only time I can use it *efficiently* (or have seen it used well), was when the player is already moving a certain speed... and it basically just takes a ton of health off, and barely speeds you up. I see routes getting faster and faster.. and the ability of chasing, becoming harder and harder. After awhile, I think there won't be any chasers at all... either stop them at the flag (which in impossible to do with any efficiency if you have a decent offense clearing), or they're gone.

Shotgun-style blaster makes it too much of a random weapon. It either needs to be more accurate, just spread fire (not random spread fire left AND right)... or just flat-out reverted back to T1(or even T2) style.

Point system needs an entire revamp. I like the T2 Classic point system better. The game's points need to be more flag-orientated, not raping, or dueling midfield.

etc etc etc

I hate the multiplayer but love the singleplayer

Irrational, hurry up with bioshock and PLEASE include coop. I had so much fun playing SS2 with my friends... and I don't think I would have been able to complete it alone.. way too :scared:

Btw, there should've been a voting option:
"Bought the game, but think it needs serious adjustments"

I think most would vote that, instead of "like it" or "hate it". Hell, I like it.. but I hate some of the features/gameplay. Get meh?

Funny thing with all these people pissn n moaning about thier fps.

Since I got the retail I can run MP in 1280x1024 and get a rather smooth framerate, something I could NOT do with beta AT ALL.

AMD Athlon 64 3000+
512mb DDR400
BFG GeforceFX 5600 256DDR

I STILL feel like something's missing tho gameplay-wise. I was playing Arena last night and it just felt... well... off somehow...

Oh well, when I think of it I'll be sure to post here like everyone else has :D

A64 3200+, 1 gig ram, 9800pro... rarely falls below 60 fps in the heat of a 20 man server.. 1024x768 low details, don't miss them at all, the game still looks superb.

My specs:

AMD Athlon64 3500+ @ 3.3GHz Socket-939
Corsair XMS 1GB (512MBx2) 2-2-2-5
MSI K8N Neo2 Platinum nForce3 Ultra (and) Gigabyte K8NSNXP-939 nForce3 Ultra
Sapphire 256MB DDR ATI Radeon X800 Pro (flashed to XT Platinum Edition) 570c/1140m
SeaGate 120GB 7200RPM 8MB Cache with 8.5ns seek

And with that.. I can run TV at 1024 (no AA/AF) keep everything off, except Medium settings for these: Texture Detail, Fluid Detail, and World Detail... and Ultra-High for Fog Distance.

I get stable fps with those settings. When I look out into no-man's land... it stays (locked) at 85 fps. Whenever there's action abroad and people around.. it's normally down to 50/60.

I know that isn't right.. but what can I do? I've tried different Cat drivers, formatting/clean installing... two different mobos, etc. Nothing seems to get me above 70+ stable fps with max settings, like it SHOULD be.

I hate this effing Unreal engine.

Could be you're using 3d sound/EAX maybe? I dunno, you try cleaning out your pc before installing new drivers? scanning for viruses/spyware? defragging your hdd?

I bought it and really like it. I really like how cloak packs and SL's in the back, missile launchers, and ELF guns are gone. It's like smelling fresh, woodland air after spending a month in a garbage processing plant or something.

Sure there are some things I miss, but some new things I like. I think that there is a slightly hollow feeling too. But I attribute this to two things: nobody knows how to use the voice binds well, and there aren't a lot of people playing online. So things tend to be silent and unpopulated. It's beautiful looking with a nice feel to it though.

The SP is a bit overacted. Reminds me of an anime. But it's good. Great game, and I really hope sales and MP participation pick up. Props to IG who IMO showed once again they are purveyors of quality entertainment.

And when I said I formatted/clean-installed... it meant just that: total format, and several clean installs (of my OS and TV).

Slut says:
T:V packs are great. Repair pack, energy pack, shield pack, ect. are all great new ideas. T2 didnt have this innovation.

Uhh,, T2 did have packs.... repair,energy,shield,cloa k..

They are not new innovations..

And yes,, T2 had more depth than TV.
Multiple grenade Types
Multiple Turret Types
Changeable barrel Base turrets
Changable barrel MPB
Vehicles were way better(not as pretty) but better.
High skiing speeds are atainable in TV, just not as easily as T2.
T2 is more teamwork oriented TV is more Cowboy oriented.
All that said.. TV is still Fun.. Just adapt to the differences..
