I put bought it and don't like it, cuz there was no option for "Got it for free and wish it was HL2". I've still only played a total of 15 minutes of MP. Its just boring.

Dis-freaking-cussion over. Nicodemus 10-11-2004, 02:29 PM I will never understand how diehard fans of t1 can say such things, but whatever. vawlk 10-11-2004, 03:05 PM maybe someday if a fun mod comes out and I get a better computer. I find it odd that this game, in lowest settings, performs worse than T2 @ high with so much less going on internally. mc-fine 10-11-2004, 03:10 PM My feeling is some other astute company will do a T4 (the right way) other than a UT based company. Someone will use the correct engine and physics and reap the true benefits of a Tribes community. Its too strong a concept to be ignored forever and that company will make millions without flooding the market with ten packages of overpriced junk. which company is going to waste their time on trolls like you? Community that illegally downloaded the first game, half of it shazbot on the second game using the 'correct' engine, third one comes out the other half shazbots on it too. Its a bad investment. menes 10-11-2004, 03:22 PM which company is going to waste their time on trolls like you? Hi 4 of 10. Doesn't take a genius to realize the economic potential of doing tribes right Vs attempting to spin UT into what it is not, and never will be. If this is the last tribes of the series it due to narrowminded companies that think very myopically. Couple this with consumers who believe McDonalds is gormet, and you get continuation. The inverstment can't be any worst than it is now only managing to bring a few cs/ut4 converts into the mix while abandoning the faithful. Its worth about 20 bucks tops to me and thats being generous to suppport the cause from an emtional standpoint. vawlk 10-11-2004, 03:25 PM You've got to come out of your bubble. T2 had something like 8 patches and out of the box, 1/4 of people who tried to install it couldn't. T2 had way more problems than T:V. You just need to quit playing T2 and cut over to T:V completely. Going from one game to the other just messes you up. I did that, and it improved my T:V game tramendously. T2 had technical problems, such as sound issues, UE's etc. T:V has gameplay issues, they won't be patched out. If you have to quit one game to enjoy then next, then the next isn't that good now is it? I quit playing T2 6 months ago, yet T:V still doesn't interest me for more than 15-20 minutes. I keep trying, but just can't get in to it. FreshMeat 10-11-2004, 03:29 PM Bought it even though I have a free copy that's supposed to be coming and haven't gotten it yet. I got hosed. LoL, I did the same thing. I couldn't wait. So I will sell my copy when it arives for like $30.00. BestBuy had it for $39.99, so I said what the hell and bought it. So if anyone wants it when it gets here, PM me. FreshMeat 10-11-2004, 03:32 PM T2 had technical problems, such as sound issues, UE's etc. T:V has gameplay issues, they won't be patched out. I keep trying, but just can't get in to it. What about the SOUP? That is a gameplay issue? That was a physics issue, that didn't get fix till Base++, Classic and Version 2. What about the SpinFusor disk issue being alot faster and not as acurate (never went center of the reticle until after patches). Skiing was diferent as well. The CG cone spread was dramatically larger. There were alot of gameplay issues that were fix with a patch. Some so drastically, it radically changed the game. I'm not saying quit forever, just enough time to get used to the game, then go back and pwn in T1 or T2 (whatever your flavor is). StoneCold 10-11-2004, 03:34 PM SP was fun and very good up until after the Arena level with Daniel. Then the story went down the can. Not to mention that is the worst ending I've seen in a game in quite some time. Multi is fun but IMO the game was balanced too far into O. D is very handicapped. I liked both T1 and T2 and for the most part I like T:V. I just don't honestly know if I can say I'm going to be playing it still in a month or two. With t1 and 2 I played for quite some time (t1 moreso). Thus. I vote undecided. mongors 10-11-2004, 03:36 PM Haven't bought it. The game happened to come out right after mid-semester grades so I have to set priorities for right now and work on improving my grades first, then later on down the road I will buy T:V because I did like the beta. LoVer 10-11-2004, 03:39 PM Funny thing about this thread is that the complaining is disproportionate to the poll. The poll says that most of the community likes it or just hasnt gotten it yet. The thread seems to have just as much negativity as positive talk. Maybe bitches are just loud. I guess the content people play the game, the bitches whore the forums. CelticLegend 10-11-2004, 03:41 PM I can't help but wonder how many of the "eh, not so great" posts are from people who are "outgrowing" computer games in general. And not to mention the people who don't have the motivation to "get good" at this version of Tribes again. Online gaming is not for everyone - and people & circumstances do change. Just because you can't "recapture" the glory of T1 isn't to say T:V isn't as good or greater than T1. In fact, those that DO see the glory of T:V are just different than you... they see it, you don't. But to say that T:V isn't as good as T1 is just plain ridiculous to me. The graphics are tighter, the features are more challenging and tactical, the entire game is more mature than T1 was out of the box. If your computer isn't up to snuff, then it's gonna play like shazbot. Just like when you try to play T1 on a Pentium 133mhz. Don't blame the game, blame your budgeting priorities. Just my two cents. For the record, I have a 1.8ghz Athlon, 512mb DDR, and a Radeon 9800 Pro 128mb... it plays just fine with things on High settings. pyrot3chnic 10-11-2004, 03:49 PM I hear ya legend... menes 10-11-2004, 03:50 PM Funny thing about this thread is that the complaining is disproportionate to the poll. The poll shows that people are very much happy with the sp mode, but not too happy with the mp mode. Tribes is mp. Learn to think and not just react. Ben Dover 10-11-2004, 03:50 PM Didn't buy it. It's no fun. pyrot3chnic 10-11-2004, 03:53 PM Ur are consistent cause ur wrong again. The poll shows that people are very much happy with the sp mode, but not too happy with the mp mode. I liked SP a lot. I like MP a lot but the grapple is pissing me off. You can't chase with the grapple and shoot at the same time so why bother trying to chase at all? One direction change and it's over. Not to mention the swinging around in circles thing. :closet: LoVer 10-11-2004, 04:06 PM Ur are consistent cause ur wrong again. The majority of TW is not going to say they love the game on single player alone. Emilee 10-11-2004, 04:08 PM Im betting a lot of people will vote bought it and dont like it, just to try and be cool. | ||
