Sprocket 10-09-2004, 12:51 AM Simple, straightforward, and to the point. The website design is the same, and all the essential files (demos, videos, and screens) are easily linked in displayed. I went to Yahoo expecting something funny, but found a better written and more concise breakdown of the game then at any of the "major" sites. Props to them for a solid, if somewhat simple, review. The guy who wrote it seems to have at least a little connection with the Tribes series, and wasn't a total bonehead.

Calder 10-09-2004, 01:09 AM Obviously its because they made the game to appeal to nubs.
^Jadakiss 10-09-2004, 01:12 AM 9+9+9+8 /4 = 8.75 . t:v got jewed. They should of rounded up not down.

I am seriously getting tired of hearing this. Unless of course you mean that as a good thing. If you make this god damn thing so difficult like T1, it wont ever go mainstream and people will never get a chance to play one of the most unique online gaming expereinces ever. I mean hell, I go out of my way to tell every single gamer I meet about T:V, and I usually end up persuading them to download the demo, or tell them they are stupid for likeing CS, DOD or whatever else stupid game they play. The fact that it appeals to noob was not only a extremely smart marketing idea, but it opens up the game to people that otherwise never would have touched the game. Embrace the influx of new players, teach them so that you can one day compete against them and live in the utter bliss that is tribes. oh and stop complaining.
Undisciplined 10-09-2004, 01:32 AM That's a pretty good exclusive trailer that they have there.
Sprocket 10-09-2004, 01:40 AM Obviously its because they made the game to appeal to nubs.
I wasn't referring to the rating they gave the game. I was referring to the quality of the review itself, and how the review and site design kicks the butt of all the other major sites (IGN, GameSpy, GameSpot, etc).
Sprocket 10-09-2004, 01:44 AM OK WTF. Why is Yahoo the only place I've seen that trailer, too? Wow, thats the best trailer I've seen for T:V so far. It made me want to play for once! The voice overs were good, the music, the cuts, the action, it was all there. Wtf if more people saw that they would buy the game.

Bridger 10-09-2004, 03:27 AM i want to know how he averaged 9, 8, 9 and 9 together ang got 8?
Monkee07 10-09-2004, 03:29 AM Hot damn that is a nice trailer! Would be awesome if that was an actual trailer played in movie theaters (like Halo 2).
Plasmatic 10-09-2004, 06:14 AM It's exactly one minute, thirty seconds.. :browsmile
rookie 10-09-2004, 08:26 AM That is one kickass video. :roller:
Kryptik 10-09-2004, 08:50 AM Weapon loadout includes many favorites from the older games, including the classic "spinfusor," a powerful, slow-moving explosive disc launcher.
I see nothing slow about the spinfusor...
Thriky 10-09-2004, 08:59 AM He obviously means in comparison to other weapons that your average gamer will be used to.
And that trailer is seriously good. Gamesdomain is a pretty high traffic site though afaik, so it may help.
Got Haggis? 10-09-2004, 09:45 AM i want to know how he averaged 9, 8, 9 and 9 together ang got 8?
.
Oxide 10-09-2004, 10:54 AM It's not Yahoo, it's Games Domain. They've always had nice reviews. Now they're hooked up with (bought by?)Yahoo, but I suppose the reviewers are still the same. The only downside to Games Domain are the less than frequent updates.
Dark|Fate 10-09-2004, 11:08 AM i got chills watching that movie it was so good. damn shame it isnt passed out to tons of other sites.
MikSchultzy 10-09-2004, 11:09 AM blah blah blah blah
I agree, they noobie-fied the game and I think it'll help it hit mainstream
Now, all they need to do, is for the nextgame, make it more difficult. (Since these newbies may have a handle on the concept finally.)
Origim 10-09-2004, 11:19 AM In my opinion, T:V combines accessibility for n00bs AND much room to improve. Seriously, how many n00bs have you recently seen that scored 8/10 mid air discs, that knew how to properly use discjump, that could devastate anyone with a buckler, etc?
Also- what is better on a public server: bunch of people that don't know how to ski or defend or two almost evenly matched teams? Obviously it is better when other team offers you challenge, as it makes the game more intense.
