NeotiK 10-08-2004, 11:38 PM ...to pick up my copy of T:V.
I spend 15 minutes searching the small PC section looking for the white box (amazingly...white would've stood out pretty easily against the current selection). No T:V found.
I move to the "New PC releases" in hopes that it'll be there. Nope. Only Doom 3...and Halo?!?!? Wtf....
Anyway, still hopeful I go to the front register and ask if they have T:V. the guy says "o yea we do..." and scurries off into the secret-forbidden-employee-only-BACK ROOM to bring out 2 boxes. He says one of them is T:V and the other is Starsiege that they are giving away...(of course the other box is the preorder box with the bonus CD in it, even though I didn't pre-order it).
Now let me get this straight... VU wants to sell a game, yet the retailers aren't EVEN displaying it. If I didn't know T:V was out I would not have even known it existed, but I certainly would have seen HL2 (even though it's not out), Nintendo DS (even though it's not out), and a bunch of other shazbot that's no where near being released.
I don't get it. And I don't believe this is the only store...I've heard similar stories. I went to 2 stores w/o success before going to this one.

NeotiK 10-09-2004, 12:03 AM sorry, wasn't thinking. meant "Gamestop.com" as it is the name of the store. got the two confused.
You know it might be related to the fact that VU released the game a week early. I don't know if game stores like to keep a schedule for what's on the shelves each week or not.
Arckanum- 10-09-2004, 12:10 AM ha, that sig is great

true
pyrot3chnic 10-09-2004, 12:21 AM I got mine at a Software Etc, and they had about 15-20 boxes laid out on the floor. Looked like they just got them unpacked and ready for the shelves. But I agree about not advertising it at all. I mean how hard would it be to send a few of those Julia (http://www.tribalwar.com/media/viewer.php?id=69) cardboard cut-outs along with the game?

Ben Reed stole them all.
Something about an army and ruling the world or something.
TheGrudge 10-09-2004, 12:31 AM The EB where I bought my copy was the same. Stack of games behind the counter. Was at the end of the day too... and I called them when they opened to see if they had it in... and they did. It wasn't displayed at all... or are then board of upcoming/new releases that's above the register.
Bridger 10-09-2004, 12:35 AM Gamestop has always had poor support (in my area) for PCGames. They got a tiny little section for it over in the corner and the entire rest of the store is dedicated to consoles.
Whereas EB usually has a whole wall for PC games.
I got mine at EB and it was also still in the box in the back room. They always put PC new releases on the rack in the front of the store that you see when you first walk in.
I think it's definately because none of the stores were expecting it to come this early. People were posting a lot about all the stores saying they weren't expecting the game for [at least] another week.
Razer 10-09-2004, 01:04 AM I had to ask for mine as well at the EB in Fairfield, CT. This was mid-day Wednesday though, so I just chalked it up to me being early.

Well, Same here except for the fact that I just got back from same store I bought it a few days ago and now there are even less copies out, there was one box thrown on the shelf next to some no name pc titles. IT was actually next to an empty display box of some shazbotty Medol of Honor craP.
