Yeah, that's like unbelievably lame. I hope to God this was an honest mistake or oversight, not a ploy to sell more copies.

there is 2 seperate exes for a reason (the game exe and ucc.exe).. ucc is normally used for Servers, etc, because it doesn't have cd check crap.. but since whenever, it seems the need to allow that option was removed..

therefore taking a big dump on the release heh

T2 required the whole retail game to run a server, but it didn't require a CD in the drive, and it didn't require it's own key.

Doesn't seem very smart to me to release a game early and then have a bunch of remote servers not be able to get it.

If the whole Vivendi-Valve lawsuit controversy has taught us anything, it's that Vivendi will spite a promising game just to save/make a couple bucks. At this point I'd expect anything from those scumbags.

ucc is what is used to run commandlets. "make" is a commandlet (the compiler). But there are other ones. For instance, the T:V TV stuff is commandlets and run via ucc.

Hmmm, Ive never heard that, I hope that isnt the case. I definately wouldn't buy an extra copy to run my server, Im not even going to go through the trouble of copying and vmounting it. I hope this changes quick.

Menzo commented in another thread that there would be a package like this at some point, but the CD requirement for a dedicated server makes this issue far more important.
