oh come on ladies the game isnt a flop.

this is absolutely ghey, dont get me wrong. its a self inflicted kick in the nutz on their part. but the game isnt going to flop because of it.

this whole situation is retarded though. come on guys ... "where's your head"?

Limited ded server support is not quite as bad as not being able to play at all. I mean, I'm not making light of this big problem, but still nowhere near as bad as T2

It is as bad from a practical standpoint. If there's literally less than 100 people playing online on release day, that's effed, especially given the success of the beta and demo.

Rev dont be daft. I cant even buy the game yet nor can many other people.

IMO they have till friday to have a solution for this to avoid a huge massive black eye. If it slips past that people are going to be very unhappy.

as it is most people dont even have the game yet.

Wait until release NIGHT.

Then we'll see if its screwed.

Here's a point that hasn't been brought up (I don't think).

What about the people out there that don't come to this forum. The Tribes fans, or people that have heard about the game or read reviews, or the casual gamer that see's the box and thinks it's interesting. When these types of people pick up this game today and in the next following days... they will jump online and see less than 10 servers. This will make people think that no one wants to host servers because the game sucks.

I'm not saying that's how every single one of those people in those situations will handle this, but I guarantee that a good number will try to get their money back... or turn around and sell the game used to put money towards a different game.

I love T:V. I've played a little bit of the SP... but I'm so mad and/or depressed about this... that I just couldn't get into it. I saved... and will probably play when this is fixed or I get realy bored. I bought T:V for it's multiplayer, as did lots of people... and the multiplayer isn't there. The number one thing that makes Tribe's what it is, is not to the standards it needs to be. At this very moment... T:V is just another SP game.

I'm not being daft, dude. Even if they've sold a maximum of 10,000 copies, 1 in 1000 people playing multi is f'ing slim.

I do not see the future existence of Dedicated Servers to be a resolution. When dedicated servers are up, how many will there be and how many players can they hold? Not enough to quell the frustration of the multitude of brand new players the first few weeks after a game is released who are faced with all full dedicated servers, a frustration that can only be avoided by the existence of remote server services (as opposed to Bobby with a DSL line) supplied by the game's die hard loyal fans.

Thus, until the No-CD issue is addressed visa a vis remote server service providers, the window of opportunity for T:V will sadly continue to shrink during the very narrow time frame for a game's success after launch.

their sales are based off pre orders and sales to retail stores.

in their books the initial sales are already in an excel spread sheet somewhere.

again, most people cant even buy the game right now. throwing out numbers how people playing online right now is entirely pointless regardless of how stupid this whole dedicated server issue is.

Once more... this issue is being caused by SecuROM being placed on the CDs by VUG, not Irrational.

Irritant DID poke his head up briefly in my thread that's trying to make this clear to folks. Check it here: http://www.tribalwar.com/forums/showthread.php?t=330284

FOR CRYING OUT LOUD.

This issue is ALSO caused by a standalone dedicated server package that should have been ready to go at release.

We covered that. VUG also were the ones who cut the dev cycle. Given an extra week, the standalone server would have been in place. Irrational no doubt knew that with the moved up deadline that they wouldn't have it ready, but figured retail based servers could hold the fort until it was.

They got blindsided by SecuROM just like everyone else.

Besides, someone mentioned that the Dev lads hadden't posted yet, when infact they have.
