If they give us 4 CDs, they can at least give us a decent damn case for them. Instead, all four CDs come in PAPER CASES. That's horrible and just feels so cheap...

i have a more than adequate gaming computer and dont have a DVD drive. I just didn't feel like spending money on something I didn't need.

you all lose.

Well if T:V had only come out on DVD you would have been screwed. It would have forced you into the 21st century

It also came out on DVD in a very nice Plastic protective case.

Easier to keep track of?

Maybe you need to clean your room, then go to Office Depot and buy a CD Valet. I've seen them as low as $3.99 at Wal-Mart. They cost much less that a DVD drive, don't require training, and they can hold your other games too!

And, BTW, explain to us how annoying hell is again?

EDIT: Oops.. http://i.walmart.com/i/icon/00/00/60/81/6081_195X40.gif $3.96 at Wal-Mart

Ok smart ass. I have a box full of CDs and 2 CD wallets with 200+ CDs. I'm also not a whiny teenager that still lives at home that can't afford a DVD-ROM or the brain power to install it. You don't need any training.

There should be a DVD version. Its a pity idiots like you and the morons producing games can't understand the reasoning behind it. A DVD-ROM costs just as much as a CD-ROM now. There's no reason not to have one.

The October 5th ship date was ahead of schedule. (Maybe you can wait a few weeks for the actual ship date...)
More people have CD-ROM drives than those that have DVD-ROM drives.
Smart marketing says, go for the numbers!
Better to send CDs than a link for downloading. (STEAM)

So does anyone know the cost of dvd dupe vs cd dupe and if its possible that production prices of dvd vs cd manufacturing could be an issue?

I think the cost of making one DVD to the four CD's is almost exactly the same cost to them. I do not however have exact figures.

In addition, every movie that comes out has it's VHS counterpart. Noone's forced to do anything at this point (save for just a couple movie releases).

Release T:V on CD AND DVD but not ONLY DVD. A few more years, yes, today DVD only? No.

So, I stand by my, "Get a DVD or stop gaming" is retarded logic.

not true. there are movies that haven't came out on vhs. also where's the season 4 boxset of simpsons?

forcing everyone to upgrade to dvd is not retarded. chances are someone who plays computer games knows how to change a video card, because everyone knows how often people upgrade video cards.

by that same mentality you have why don't we all use video cards that are 4 years old. that way all video game makers will have to program for whatever we have, because if people can't put in a dvd player they sure the eff can't put in a video card.

So does anyone know the cost of dvd dupe vs cd dupe and if its possible that production prices of dvd vs cd manufacturing could be an issue?

we discussed this in the other thread. the price is almost identical. the only extra cost would be if the packaging was different between the two.

actually all computers that is even able to run the game will have at least a cdrom...
and besides if the computer has winxp, you have a cdrom drive... as you can only get winxp on a cd
do you see winxp on floppy discs anywhere?? I can think of a few ways to run/install XP without a cdrom.

i would prefer it on dvd drive too, but i was just telling you somewhat what the devs said.

also, they said something like how the publishers in the us hate doing new stuff and i think it is more expensive.Totally a marketing decision. The dev team just makes it like they say they want it. So there are both DVD and CD versions. If you want a DVD version, let VUG corporate in LA know about it.

Yea, because VUG is all about listening to the player base.
