FishStix 10-01-2004, 07:44 PM I get the same FPS that I did in the beta. Same settings, same FPS.
Fishstix, AGP 8x will not add 10 more frames. It probably wont even add one more. Make SURE you have PS 2.0 OFF in the in-game settings. Your card is horrible at PS 2.0, and it will kill your frames. Your CPU is just about top notch for a Intel, but your video card is really hurting you. Its last gen's midway card. If you can, I would sell it and get a next gen card.
well the thing is, i bought this card from word-of-mouth. i heard it runs T:V perfectly on med settings (40-60.) ive done everything i can to make sure my comp is running how it should be and the ONLY really significant difference between us (other than he has an AMD chip  ) is that his motherboard can support 8X agp
so what am i suppose to think now? is my computer fundamentally flawed for some bizzarre reason?
I'm about to bag it, and hope retail version works for me. Just installed the omega version of cat 4.8's. A bit better, but still getting mad warpage every few seconds. One moment I'm here, then I'm like 100 meters over there.
Judge 10-01-2004, 09:12 PM is a Geforce FX with Pentium 4 good i run Halo good and LOTR good so should T:V run good ?
Krazy Bear 10-01-2004, 09:36 PM Great call on the norton and adawre causing slowdown...went from 20-50 fps to almost a constant 70-85

Any ideas for my problem? :(
jotun 10-02-2004, 01:18 AM Turn off glow.
|baby|roach| 10-02-2004, 03:10 AM i thought my system was 1337 :(
KnightMare 10-02-2004, 03:16 AM did it work good in beta?
enDless_Delirium 10-02-2004, 03:44 AM the demo seems to not like the super high end cards (x800 Geforce 6 blah). A lot of people with similar to worse systems (with 9800/9600's and such) are experiencing better frames.
Maybe it's just an optimization that got borked somewhere along the way? Just I'm noticing most people complaining have 512 or less RAM and a super new vid card. Whereas a lot of epople saying they are getting great performance have the older vid cards (and more than a few made the upgrade to 1024 RAM).
Something to look into maybe?

The FX cards do not do DX9 well, at all. And some of the 256meg versions are actually slower than the 128meg versions because they are clocked slower. The extra ram doesnt do anything in most games unless you run in a very high res, with AA/AF. Make sure PS 2.0 is off in the display settings, and try turning down most other settings to medium. Try to leave Fog on the best though.. as you can see farther.
What drivers are you using? Got chipset drivers? If everything is ok, it should perform decently. I just let a buddy use a 9600 Pro I have, and he has a P4 3.2. On medium settings and 1024x768 he usually gets around 60 frames, and in a heavy battle low 40's to high 30's. The 9600 Pro and your card are comparable, so yours *should* be close.
Zimtstern 10-02-2004, 09:30 AM P4 3.0 Ghz
1GB RAM
Radeon X800 Pro
.... runs horribly even on med details.
Thermoptic 10-02-2004, 10:01 AM I was having the same problem, a 30% drop in the FPS. Resolution is 1024x768 with everything on low, except for the ViewDistance, and I noted that it wasn't the same "low" as in the beta. There were more terrain details, textures seemed to be in higher rez etc etc.
Anyway, I ended up changing them in the .ini, but the framerate is still some 10-20% under the beta one.
|baby|roach| 10-02-2004, 03:33 PM I had a 9800pro a month ago and it feels like it worked better than the x800pro i have now....
Its like If I put it at 1280res at ultra high I get the same fps as I do in 800res with high detail.... Its so messed =/
