vivrant 10-01-2004, 02:41 PM its not as common in demo as it was in beta, but its still a prob. and every time i post a thread about this its completley ignored by devs :ftard:
and yes i know there is another thread, but this needs more
getting dropped in the middle of scrims is not an acceptable bug to do nothing about
°Gn0m3_Gr0wN° 10-01-2004, 03:16 PM that sux, how bout the great Paused feature
KillerONE 10-01-2004, 05:27 PM Maybe their waiting for someone to log it correctly and give helpful information they can use to find and fix the problem.
Like router settings, what server you were on, what you were doing it happened. Ping and PL information, you know, like stuff that will help.
Less wah, more help. Thanks.
Nicodemus 10-01-2004, 05:30 PM Well i'm still gettin the complete lagout before you get the spawnscreen up, and it just sits there in the server with no activity. Really stupid stuff.
vivrant 10-01-2004, 07:29 PM yea nico ive gotten that twice in demo so far

Less wah, more help. Thanks. The server is variable, the action is variable, the ping is sub 100, and the packet loss is non-existant as far as I can tell. I'd love to tell you about the router, but the University won't tell me jack, so I doubt they will you either. Considering that no other game has this kind of problem, these seem to be completely random crashes.
Evele 10-02-2004, 01:30 AM I'm having the same exact problem.
vivrant 10-02-2004, 02:29 PM :bump:
Evele 10-02-2004, 05:07 PM Hell yah bump.
Snoobper 10-02-2004, 05:14 PM sometimes the server times-out, happened to me like 6 times in T:V. but i dont experience the same problem as u... neither do my friends
SelfOwnage 10-02-2004, 05:39 PM They're actually just kicking you from the server.
vivrant 10-02-2004, 06:34 PM They're actually just kicking you from the server.
the first time it happened in beta 03 thats what i thought happened.
vivrant 10-03-2004, 06:22 PM :o

I think it's ram based, Nic. I upgraded to 512mb of OCZ, and havn't seen the lagout since.

Evele 10-05-2004, 03:34 PM bump
Disdain 10-05-2004, 09:36 PM Seriously, a little :bump: here 'cause I was having fun on CkB's server tonight and it happened. It kind of takes the starch out of my maypole to be playing well and then have to "star over" after a Rejected by Server. I'm not talkin' points here, after it happens it's less likely that I'll continue to play T:V.

its definitly system specific... I have the same problem the first time i connect to a server after starting the game. It takes so long for my computer to load up the map that by the time it does, the server thinks i've disconnected and no longer responds to me.
it works fine the next time i reconnect because most of the info is already loaded in RAM, so i can connect before the server drops me. Its anoying, and only started happening with the demo, but you can get past it.
2.8 ghz processer,
768 mb ram,
raedon 9800 128 mb,
windows xp
Disdain 10-05-2004, 10:29 PM its definitly system specific...
I have a hard time believing that it's a RAM issue, or a system issue. I'll get booted randomly, sometimes on the first map, others on third+++. My system is fairly robust, not overclocked, and my settings are not agreesive:
A64 3200+
1GB PC3200 (2x512MB)
MSI K8N Neo-FSR (nForce3-250gb)
eVGA Geforce 6800GT
SB Audigy Platinum
Win2k SP4
kraska 10-06-2004, 08:05 AM weird... must be a different problem then i'm experiencing then. Mine occures ONLY on the first map (so far anyhow). Oh well
