640x480 : use low
800x600 : use low or medium
1024x768 : use medium
1280x1024: use medium or high
1600x1200: use high

List of THINGS THAT ARE DIFFERENT:

-team scores color-coded (your team is green, enemy is red) and put in the bottom left
-radar made larger so you can see more on it
-all equipment moved to the right side of the screen
-energy blade thing removed
-ammo counts made larger and more visible
-text when targetting things made more visible
-carryable (flag) will flash red to make sure you know you have it
-pack cooldown thingy made a more visible blue
-larger most things and smaller some things for the high and low resolutions
-health/energy bars are bigger in high res
-vehicle huds moved to the right (so they don't overlap the scoreboard)
-cooler pre-game countdown just because
-out of ammo X thing is red and more visible

To use it:

1. Back up the TribesHUD.ini file in the \content\system\ directory of your T:V install
2. Extract one of the .ini files in here to that same directory and rename it to TribesHUD.ini
3. Adjust stuff if you want
4. Radar zoom scales can be found in \program\bin\user.ini if you want to change those
5. Bind a key to cycleChatWindowSize in user.ini (ex. "U=cycleChatWindowSize") to change chat window size
6. PM jotun on TW or send email to zarakon@gmail.com if you encounter problems, have suggestions, or want to send me money!

Will the T1 Vchat mod work with this hud? Will my custom red T1 rets work with this hud? Looks awsome! This is the best one I've seen so far, I'll definatly use it. If I knew how to make huds.. I would change it around a little for personal preference...

- Scoring put above the healthy/energy bar at top left
- Personal Points put right below the healthy/energy bars
- Take the Dark box around the chat away, or make it more transparent.

Hi Jotun, I realy dig your Hud. I have a request. Could you make a hud with ultra small hud elements, with the exception of the RADAR? I would like the RADAR just a little bit smaller, like by 20%. All other HUD elements could be like 15% smaller than the original size. But I totally like the place ment of them. If you don't feel like doing it, that is cool too. I just thought it wouldn't hurt to ask.

I was bummed I had to practice last night with the default hud setup.

Thank you, Jotun. :D

I love this HUD...

It shows you the actual HP of the player. ;)

the reticles are something completely separate.. i'm using LostAngel's. look in scripting/modifying for them.

v chat stuff should work fine.

freshmeat - if you want smaller HUD elements just use the low-res hud with a higher resolution

piper - I haven't tried moving them much, so I dunno

oh, and one other thing.

you might notice with the bigger radar that players and stuff will disappear before they get to the edge. main objectives will be normal, but players/vehicles/deployables will be weird. It used to work fine in the beta, but now it's screwed up

BUT you can fix it. If you just cycle your radar zoom level it starts acting normally again, until you die. So what I did was made my shift key also cycle my zoom 3 times. That way it fixes the radar every time I hit shift to use an inventory station without taking any extra effort every time I die.

in user.ini:
Shift=Button bQuickChat | Button bLoadoutSelection | cycleRadarZoomScale | cycleRadarZoomScale | cycleRadarZoomScale

but that will get changed every time you go into options.. SOOO.. you have to change the way that it resets it. nearer to the top of user.ini you'll see a line that looks like this:
CommandString=Button bQuickChat | Button bLoadoutSelection
it's right above the jetpack one. change it to the same bind as your other key:
CommandString=Button bQuickChat | Button bLoadoutSelection | cycleRadarZoomScale | cycleRadarZoomScale | cycleRadarZoomScale

So... is this specific to your hud, Jo, or is it for any hud that has had the radar moved... or?

Nicely done Jotun. I was trying to figure this out last night so I could get your HUD's to work in Demo. What I could never get to work was the weapon container. It kept getting stuck at the very top right no matter where I oriented it. Was there a trick to that or should i just check out the ini file you made when I get home and hope that makes it more apparent what i was doing wrong?
