So... is this specific to your hud, Jo, or is it for any hud that has had the radar moved... or?
for when you have the radar bigger than normal

Nicely done Jotun. I was trying to figure this out last night so I could get your HUD's to work in Demo. What I could never get to work was the weapon container. It kept getting stuck at the very top right no matter where I oriented it. Was there a trick to that or should i just check out the ini file you made when I get home and hope that makes it more apparent what i was doing wrong?
container seems to not even do anything anymore. if you look at these I just offset each element relative to the center of the screen instead of relative to other elements or the containers. It's actually much cleaner this way..

Ah I was wondering about that. Thanks bro. Another thing I was thinking about doing is adding the weapon ammunition near the reticle along with a small flag icon if you had it. Do you know off hand if that's even possible or would it have to be custom done through the plug-in type functionality that the Speedo was done?

the reticles are something completely separate.. i'm using LostAngel's. look in scripting/modifying for them.

freshmeat - if you want smaller HUD elements just use the low-res hud with a higher resolution

they're attached to the weapon modules so I don't think you could do it normally

this is the first i've heard of this Speedo thing, so i have no idea if you could do it that way. where could I find it?

edit: ok I glanced at the speedo thing.. apparently it just makes use of a speedo.u that's included but not normally active. Looking at the .u it seems like you MIGHT be able to modify it or make your own to display weapon ammo or flag status, but if you can it would take a good bit of work to figure out exactly how

oh come on, that's not hard to do. just add that .ini and add one line in your hud file.. it's even aligned in a valid spot already

When you make a HUD, is there a way to refresh the HUD while you are in the game, so you don't have to exit the game and go back in it?

I have already done it.

I have also created a .bat file that modifies my zoom settings from a fresh install lol.

I like x2 x6 x12 the best.

no, unless they added that capability for the demo and didn't tell us. getting these things to work right is a pain in the ass :p

does it do that?

Try commenting out the two lines & looking in the bottom right hand corner of your hud when you are picking up speed - you should see a speedo fade in.

there's one small problem I found out...

the events thing (kills and stuff) will go under the team scores HUD when it fills up, at least in the medium res one.

to fix, look for the [default_EventMessageWindo w] section and change the OffsetY value. More negative = farther up, so -200 is farther up than -160

changes so far:

fixed the events thing
pack will now turn green and pulse slightly when it's ready to use
health will turn red and flash when low (it's still green normally)
neato speed bar
removed the hotkey labels (you guys shouldn't need them)

Anyone have suggestions for other features or anything?

i didn't want it to match the others because it's not as important. I don't want to distract too much attention away from health and energy

reticles are lostangel's.. look in the scripting and modifying board
