Demo FPS half that of Beta06

Same thing happens to me, 9800 Pro. Game runs a lot more slowly.

i think mine is a little slower in demo. my settings were actually higher in beta05..

I get 50ish fps with 1024 res on high detail :(

I do seem to get a more steady fps in 06.. overall the game just feels smoother i averate about 50 - 70 fps with a 5900xt , gig ram, amd 2500 barton.

I have also seen a dramatic loss in performance with the demo,


I also have a 9800Pro, which seems to be a common factor.

I think the ULTRA HIGH setting became ULTRA HIGHER!

Cause on low settings I'm getting MORE FPS.

Maybe they added more eye candy on UH. :shrug:

ATI does seem to be the common factor.

Grrrrr.... missing a scrim because of horrible trigger lag, fps lag. Dunno if it's related, but yeah, I have a 9800 pro. Game is unplayable, I can't even walk onto an inv.

I'm wondering if player models were updated graphically, because hosting a game myself nets me my original 80+ fps.

I have no problems when hosting a game via open mp-whatever. But online, it is hell, even with all settings on low/off. Tried reinstalling, gonna reinstall vid card drivers next.

Then why do some people get higher frame rate?I couldn't say. I was just pointing out a difference that would explain a change in frame rate.

I have a very similar issue, I don't think upgrading from the Beta06 was what caused it though, as I think I had the same issues in it as well. But I used to get awesome frames. Now a couple guys get on the screen and it drops into the 40's. I think I have a similar setup as you as well. Don't you have a x800 pro?

Which drivers are you folks with the problems using? Like I said, I'm on a 9800 Pro and the 4.8 Catalyst drivers, and I experienced a performance increase.

I've got a x800 pro and i'm using 4.8 as well. For a while my fps was great and was what I thought it should be. Originally I noticed the fps drop sometime after installing Catalyst 4.9 drivers and I believed they were the problem. I returned to 4.8 but still was having the problems. I've since formated and am using 4.8 drivers again and having the same problem.

Lost alot of FPS going to MP Demo than the beta, I dont know the number only the obvious chop.

Also check your FOV settings. I'm at 111. Sluggish at 800x600 even at the original 85 FOV. Pixel Shaders on or off.

Sterling, you are REALLY shooting yourself in the foot with that video card. Paring the fastest CPU out, with last gens budget card is.. meh.

The only time I get slow down, is in Cavern. Which is ok by me, cause I dont like the map. I play 1280x1024 2xAA/4xAF. All settings set to high, except Fog which is Ultra-High. Hardware 3D sound as well. I like the sounds. :shrug:
